    Tilt + shift

Thanks Andrew - some great advice there. Apprecate you taking the time to reply.

    Tilt + shift

thanks - I do understand the theory but that's a good explanation thank you. I'm just trying to get my head round if they are that useful. The shift I could see me using for pano's just struggling to see the usefulness of the depth of field control in real world situations.

    Tilt + shift

Is anyone regularly using tilt and shift lenses for their landscape photography? Having just borrowed one for a week I understand how they work and their usefulness for architecture photography but with the improvements in software like focus stacking etc are they still relevant today. Do you...

    LPOTY 2020

I had the crash and burn email earlier. Always next year and good luck to those still in the running.

Free 48 hour Canon test drive

Yes - hired a couple of RF lenses and it was very a smooth process. They arrived as expected and the courier turned up to pick them up after the 48Hr period. You do have to pay the deposit upfront but that was back in my bank 2-3 days after I returned the lenses.

Which type of tripod head do you prefer?

Been using a Arca Swiss P0 for the past few months and love it - not the geared one mentioned above but the cheaper model. The unique design makes pano's a doddle without the need for a separate levelling base.

    Kase Wolverine Circular Magnetic filters

Been using them for the last month or so and impressed. A lot less hassle than other systems. No issues for me yet all seems well built. The magnetic cap supplied can sometimes work free in your bag the actual filters stay put when they are on. You can buy additional adaptors now which means you...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Bargain! thank you. Not even sure I need one but at that price it's hard to refuse.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Picked up an open box 2.8 from Amazon for a good price. Been very very impressed , the f4 is also fantastic but on my copies at least the edges are better on the 2.8 from the limited shots I've done. The 2.8 is definitely better at the wide end. But it's big, fairly heavy and not cheap. If I...

Best suggestion I can give is to buy Simon's book (above).

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Had a 50 but returned it - superb lens but prefer the 35 for me, but it's really a focal length preference. For a family, walk around lens I find the 35mm is more useful. Plus you can crop if need be, on a z7 that's still a 19MP file.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Yes I believe so. Same 30 day returns policy also.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

I've ordered one yesterday from Amazon, as new for £550 which makes it a bit easier to justify if you need one less excuse :)

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Nice pictures, how are you finding the 50? It's either that or the 35 next for me.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Pretty much how I feel, there aren't any bad cameras these days anyway. Slightly ironic given my recent Z7 purchase but if you just chase the latest technonlogy you will probably end up disappointed. And yes prices will fall on the current Z camera's but that's no different to any other tech is...
