    great white egret

I really need to practice and get something at least closer to these- the images you get are very nice.

    Canvas prices

Another recommendation for Trade Canvas Print, I have used them, and also been given canvas from other suppliers and TCP always come out on top for me.

    Photography shop or John Lewis?

My local LCE I find pretty good overall but I am near Reading again, the Guildford branch was good when I went there too. We want to keep being able to handle the equipment so we need the stores there and profitable, if we force them too hard on price in the end they will break is my view.

    Beginner External monitor

@Antony hayward I really hope that works but I would be quite surprised if it does in a camera, maybe in other devices, it would need some form of driver etc built into the camera.

    Beginner Histograms for beginners ?

I would just like to say a big thank you for this post, its really helped me to start ot understand the histogram a little more, much as I thought I was starting to get it before, there are some pretty complicated minefields in photography.

    27 inch monitors

Well work have offered to help and that means the Lenovo, which there is very limited knowledge on but it looks like it should do the job nicely, so not complaining. I am confident that it will help the development of my ability to edit photos more effectively and ensure the final printed...

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

@wave01 you make the point that is challenging the do I wait or not side of things for me - something says just get on and get a Mk2 or 80D, the other side says at least get latest when you buy even if everything goes out of date fairly quickly.

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

Dont worry not expecting to get one for £1500, much as that would be very nice it is not likely.

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

@Mike.P i am very tempted to join you in waiting for a 7D Mkiii - that could be a very impressive camera in itself and worth the wait is my guess. My 20D may be old but it still works fine at the moment.

    27 inch monitors

the Dell options do appear overall to be very popular, the P27Q was just mentioned at work but nobody seems to really know much about it which is a bit odd to my mind. The Dell is probably the winner I think for me.

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

@bumper It is hard to disagree with what you are saying and having just looked on the Wex website that brings me back to now saying the 80D is a fantastic camera still, will do a lot for me and I can cope with the slightly lower frame rate. I do a little work with wildlife but not a lot, much as...

Upgrading from a 13" to a 15" MBP for Lightroom?

Dell Ultrasharp, I would recommend the 24 inch if you have space, as someone else said about £200, but they do come up second hand on Facebook etc too.

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

@Snapdragon, thanks for that. I think in my head the 7Dii is winning out really, I want something where if I am on the beach I am not constantly petrified if it getting a little wet etc as I get that photo I want.

    Canon 80d or 7d mk2

I bet the 550D felt rather lacking next to a 1D, glad you are pleased with the 7Dmkii - how do you feel the 7D compares to the older pro cameras you had?
