    Settings for using strobes?

Guys thanks for these tips. Gives me some starting points to experiment with. As mentioned in a few of the posts, I had the camera on one of the program modes. I'll see how I get on with manual setting. Thanks again.

    Settings for using strobes?

Ok guys, I'm an absolute newbie as far as using studio lighting is concerned so bare with me. I've just purchased a set of 3 Neewar 250 strobes that were going cheap. I've got the SU 800 paired up to my D850. They trigger fine but the shutter speeds are vey very slow. Can anyone tell me the...

    Lastolite Hilite

...and after seeing those shots I wont be discounting the grey. That's a lovely shot Sir SR. Thanks for the help. As I said I've just got hold of the Hilite (picked it up as new for £200 with the vinyl train so not a big outlay) and I've got a lot of learning to do. These tips are invaluable...

    Lastolite Hilite

Thanks for the info guys. Earlier in the thread I was advised not to use continuous light. The reason I thought of continuous was because I'd been watching videos on Youtube trying to get some tips. In this one the photographer is using continuous lights to illuminate the Hilite. View...

    Lastolite Hilite

I've decided I want to have a go at some home portraits and I've just purchased a Lasolite Hilite pop-up background with white vinyl train. Its the 8' x 7' version. I intended using the Nikon CLS lighting system to illuminate the setup. At the moment I've got 3 speedlights. I used 2 for inside...

    Yellowstone National Park

That's a great read John. Thanks for that. I have loads of Black Bear shots from my trip to Yellowstone. One set of shots was when I spotted a bear in the trees a few hundred yards from the roadside. I grabbed the camera and slowly walked towards it taking shots. I got to within about 50ft...

Thanks John. Peter the thing that was going through my mind when the bear made eye contact and started walking towards was....have I packed enough underwear for this trip? :)

    Yellowstone National Park

I had on the Nikon 200-500mm John. That bear was very close though and heading straight towards me.So close that I legged it back to the car pretty quick after getting my shots. It was up a tree with two cubs when I started the shoot.
