I've always preferred using PSDs having started by converting the CR2 file to DNG. I love it that all editing is non destructive as long as it is done using layers, as I've many times come back to favorite images, as my knowledge has increased, and re-edited a completely new and improved...
I love the first of these. It's obviously the drama, but it's also the way it all coheres satisfyingly into a beautiful and powerful shot, all the shapes and textures adding to the total effect.
I have a new Canon 5D SR. But I don't like the ostentatious Canon strap that came with it. I'd rather attach a low-key logo-free strap to my camera such as the one I've seen in use with Leicas. However it needs to have the right ends to fit onto the Canon body, and none of the ones I've seen...
I like the grandeur of it, which the pano treatment brings out. And the low evening light is lovely. But I wonder whether there's just too much in the shot. The couple are too tiny at this scale.
You've captured a nice moody atmosphere here. The path, deserted as it is, however doesn't engage my interest on its own for very long. Something more is needed. The mono tho works well.

A nicely seen set of images. You've cleverly introduced a semi-abstract quality to some of these. However if there is one weakness it is that there is no clear focal point in at least some, somewhere for the eye you settle.
Nicely seen. Nicely framed. And I think the muted, diffused lighting is definitely on its favour. The only problematic feature is the way the nicely contrasting leaves in the background are brighter than the main subject matter. I think I'd have tried to ensure they were more shaded in the taking.
Thank you to everyone with their very helpful advice. Having carefully read through this and followed up various leads I finally came to a decision! I purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 7556, from Dell themselves. It appears to tick all the boxes. It's a machine for gamers, which I am not, though it...
Hello,
My old Dell Inspiron is due for replacement and i need advice on what to replace it with - particularly as I want to start subscribing to Photoshop CC. I'd be grateful for any thoughts on the sort of spec I should be considering to deal with the very large Raw files my camera generates...
'Fraid I disagree with Kodiak on this one. B/w comes into its own when structures and textures are the most interesting features of an image. But your original image if full of delicious washed-out colours which, to my mind, all work well together. I would prefer to leave it in colour. And the...
I do like the mono treatment and the good handling of the high contrast. But I have to say I find this sort of long shot with overly-extended leading lines a little hackneyed. I think it would be much better to zoom in a bit so the 'interesting' bit in the far distance fills more of the frame...
Thanks, that hasn't occurred to me. Does this mean that as long as there are no other group A Speedlites, then altering the group A:B will make no difference? Thanks.
