Just an observation but it's funny how Gray Importers can get them in the country and Canon are struggling.

I would very carefully drill a small hole in the ring not to deep and with a hover on to suck the little bits away then use a small screw driver to try and turn it.
Or get a rubber mat and cut it the same size as the filter ring and try and turn it face down
There is a system called tethertools that look pretty good has a usb booster as well.
Also i have Trigger Trap that is very good if you want to use a mobile device.
