    Lotus Cars

I like the composition on no. 2, but for me they're all too tightly cropped in the frame. No 1 has suffered from that particularly because the dark colour, combined with the front end being in shadow means it's lost definition between car and it's own shadow

    Another Speeding Question...

The brightly painted camera thing came about from when all Gatso's were grey, and local authorities got accused of 'being sneaky'. The argument was made that if they painted them bright colours, made them very obvious, and people still got caught by them, that local authority got to keep the...

    Scratch on LCD

Personally I'd leave it, some of the suggestions here, whilst well meaning, could end up causing far more damage than they will solve.

Quick straps, options, pros and cons, well?

'Craved' as a description makes no sense, do you mean 'curved'? I think the style you go for needs to suit what's most important. With my 5d2, I first bought an Optech strap which was a huge improvement over the standard Canon one. It spread the weight much better, and carrying the camera...

So according to experts strong canabis is bad for you

Given that the study isn't proposing that skunk cannabis is the ONLY cause of psychosis, I'm not quite sure what point you're making.

Did the Archbishop of Canterbury just apologise for bombing the Nazis?

Glad to see another TP thread railroading towards disaster thanks to a hint of politics. I believe the point the Archbishop was making is that it is sad and regretful that the incident happened, and that it's still a raw wound people are struggling to move on from many years later. That's it...

    Polish SU-22

I enjoyed seeing them at RIAT this year, my first visit. I couldn't believe the noise, they were epic! Lovely shot, super sharp. I particularly enjoyed the bits of commentary I heard during the display. The commentator made a slightly 'sniffy' comment to the Polish Air Force chap he had with...

    Automatic Car gears

As for dazzling lights, they are brake lights there for a vital function. It'd be more worth while getting riled up against the mouth breathing morons that insist on driving around with front and/or rear fog lights on at every opportunity.

    Automatic Car gears

It doesn't work like that, you're applying perfectly logical reasoning because a manual would sit there trying to destroy its clutch or stall the engine, but auto's are quite different. As said, more wear comes from going from drive to neutral to drive again, but unless you're driving some...

First night looking after my 3 week old son

From our experience, I'd also consider taking their advice with an open mind. Our NCT group 'teacher' was a wonderful woman, just brilliant. The lady who took the specific breastfeeding class was positively Victorian (she tried to insist all the men left the room, and seem rather surprised when...

    Tesla Model S

I've detailed a couple of these cars so I know how big they are, but the distortion of the lens hasn't flattered the shape at all. I'd also say the strong light hasn't helped, it has produced too much contrast and again doesn't flatter the car.

    Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways

They're the greatest band live I've ever seen, from a fairly long list. They consistently reproduce an amazing sound & set, and having seen them live here at Reading, Earls Court and Wembley, couldn't agree with you one bit.

    Police activity

Ask a polite, direct question. You might get a limited response, they are not at all obliged to tell you anything and don't start getting uppity if they won't (I'm not suggesting you will), it won't help.

    VW Passat mileage

You can't quantify fun, but do the maths to consider whether you'd actually save money over a period of time spending more money buying a newer car. If you're putting money towards it to save a small amount on fuel, it could be a false move.

    VW Passat mileage

If you bought diesel at £1.36, those figures equate to 47.5mpg. But honestly, that's irrelevant because as said brim to brim figures are the only way to calculate this an therefore average out a bit of traffic, putting your foot down occasionally, etc. What year is the car? You say new shape...
