Thanks, I was surprised it was that long for the initial stock, I'm assuming it's the same everywhere

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Yes nice little lenses, I have the old Zeiss 35mm 2.8 too as well as the 55mm, so my get rid of those as the 40mm obviously sits between them, although odd focal length prime for some, seems good to me

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I purchased a new Samyang 35mm 1.8 recently as small street photography lens but sent it back. There was was something about the rendering, especially out of focus areas that looked odd and messy to my eye. Maybe it’s just different to all the other Sony native lenses I own. Switched to Sony...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Not been on here for a while, so thought I'd post an image taken with Sony 135mm GM I recently purchased. Worried it would be too long over the 85mm for street photography, but loving it more than I thought, providing not in a cramped space. Sony A7riv + Sony 135mm

    UK LPOTY 2021

Well I love woodland image personally, all so unique and challenging in their own way. plus living down in the far Southeast corner of the country locations like Rannoch Moor are just not possible for me. Been twice to Rannoch Moor and it is breathtaking location and stunning drive.

Haha oh yes I agree. I would also add I'm not sure if there is a LPOTY book that doesn't feature Rannoch Moor images(s). As beautiful a place as it is, they could have a 'Rannoch Moor' category

    UK LPOTY 2021

I think it's much the same as previous editions, there are a number of images that make me ponder how they were shortlisted, but overall most images are of a high standard IMHO. In this latest book i feel the most questionable decision is still the young photographer winner, nice fun image, but...

Is this the most hopeless UK autumn over many many years?

Down in the southeast this weekend is looking great. Feels like it's as good as it's going to get in a few forests I've visited this weekend.

Is this the most hopeless UK autumn over many many years?

Managed to get out and grab a few images yesterday afternoon after the morning rain down here in Ashdown Forest. This lone oak tree not showing its full colour yet, but the light was nice. Unfortunately, this morning's storms really looked to have stripped the leaves that had just started turning.

    UK LPOTY 2021

I have read the book from cover to cover tonight and for my eyes the majority of images are truly fantastic. Having seen all of the youth finalists I have to say I’m stunned that there was not a different overall youth winner.

Looks like beech leaves there. Whilst walking the dog this morning a noticed one large beech tree that had suddenly turned copper and brown, maybe this is the week??

Received my copy of the book today, slightly different format and style than the previous 13 versions (published by ilex and not AA)

Is this the most hopeless UK autumn over many many years?

Living down here in the southeast corner of UK, early-mid November was very good last year. I have noticed that the silver birches have dropped most of their leaves so that's been disappointing as its my favorite tree.

    UK LPOTY 2021

I used to live near 'the tunnel' at Halnaker where the winning image was taken. It's a well-known location but not seen many truly fantastic images taken there. I think it's nice, I probably wouldn't have picked it as the winner myself. I am a bit surprised on the youth winner image...
