What have you done with your camera today

took the A1 for a spin up in the smoke, had some business near the palace, but decided to disappear before dozy Donald showed up just in case he thought I'd come to see him.

What have you done with your camera today

Discovered that 5 rolls of black and white 120 I'd had developed had a nasty mottled effect all over them and the whole lot are ruined!

I don't do landscapes... but I did go to Iceland

I'm considering a photography trip to Iceland on as small a budget as I can manage. Flights seem pretty cheap and even more so if you just take carry-on. I'm thinking about doing a week and renting a small camper van so I can drive round the island taking in points of interest on the way and be...

What's Your History With Nikon Digital Cameras ?

The build quality is fantastic, very solid, with good responsive buttons. Obviously it's a fixed focal length, so depends a bit on how you want to use a 'grab' camera, I find it just makes me think more about composition so I'm fine with that, though I might miss the odd shot when something pops...

Adapted lenses (all weird lenses welcome)

I use a Kilfitt Makro Kilar 90mm 2.8 with an alpa bayonet fitting originally on an olympus m 4/3 om-d e-m5 mk1. But that camera has now been sold as I worked out I could remove the alpa bayonet and the lens has a leica 39 screw thread which can be adapted to a nikon F bayonet fitting so it can...

What's Your History With Nikon Digital Cameras ?

D7000 (for underwater photography, but ended up doing a lot more topside with it, now just being used for underwater stuff) D500 (for most everything else) Coolpix A (pocket camera for grab shots when I'm not specifically out photographing)

    Free diver's underwater photos

I'm a scuba diver so get quite upset by the amount of rubbish I see in the sea, much of it plastic. These photos are a really clever way of bringing attention to the problem.

    D500

I went out today and got some pictures with snap bridge connected to the camera. I got locations for the photos OK. But for a number of them the location data was somewhat out, however I was only walking over a couple of kilometres. Seems snapbridge may not update its location data very often...

    D500

I've played with it a bit more now and it will fit what I need I think. I can view photo locations in the map module of LR and also found an LR plugin which adds some functionality too. So far I've found Snapbridge OK to setup, if not intuitive, (one of my backgrounds is IT work) it is limited...

    D500

So, I was managing to get photo info, but not gps data on the photos. I went looking for a solution online, but everything I came up against was people saying snapbridge is no good for this use. So I think I'll stop wasting time on it and get a third party solution if I feel I really need it...

    D500

cool. It should work then. I'll take some jpg test shots and see what it does.

    D500

ok thanks. That confirms what I have set. When you say GPS on phone or tablet, do you mean you need a separate GPS logging program or just the phones built in ability to know where it is?

    D500

Thought I'd post in here as a just got my D500 a couple of days ago, previous Nikon which I'm keeping for diving trips is a D7000. I hummed and ha'ed about buying it for a couple of weeks and wondered if I would feel remorse after buying, but I've had none at all! :) Already taken 300 odd...
