This is what I do but at 1.8 the DoP is tiny and my 10 month old moves out of the focus at a seconds notice! When it's bang on though its great and the bokeh is lovely.

Hello guys, my first piccy that I'm brave enough to put up for critique. I recently turned 30 and treated myself to a 40D. Took it to Dinton Pastures with a Tamron 17-50 2.8 and tried out some HDR. Here's my first effort, tried really hard not to over process it! All feedback welcome...

Went to Dinton Pastures in Winnersh yesterday. Some good wildlife if that's your thing. I got some good waterscapes but the lighting was crap, HDR to the rescue! Might pop along to the camera club then- or shall we form our own at the pub?!?

Could be too large an aperture for what you're shooting? Need an example photo with EXIF data to be sure...

Foreground interest in the last shot is great, if it had the coloured fireworks of the other shots, it would be my fav by far. Well done!
