    Nikon 1:4 tc III

Thanks Michael, I have the older 300 f4 D and 1:4 tc II. I'm saving up for the newer 300 pf lens. I suppose then another question would be does the 1:4 tc II work with the newer 300 pf lens? Regards Gerard.

Just wondering if anybody has purchased this lens or got to use one yet. Looking for reviews especially how it compares to the non vr 300. Regards Gerard.

Nikon 300mm f/4E PF ED VR

I'm very surprised at the weight loss. I have been considering switching systems to Olympus as they are bringing out a new 300f4. But this new lightweight 300 could sway me to stay if the IQ is as good as the current 300f4 of which I only bought a brand new one last year. Regards Gerard.

    Fuji or Olympus

Looking through some of my previous pics most are with a telephoto lens. But that was part of the problem. There was many an occasion when I was going to places with brilliant landscape views and I didn't have the right lens or camera equipment at all purely because of the bulk and weight issue...

    Fuji or Olympus

Food for thought. Interesting about Olympus warranty problem. Ive used the V1 and ft-1 adapter but its still too heavy with the FF lens. I'm in no real rush to switch systems as I can hold onto the V1 and d7100. I might even wait till the two companies bring out their longer lenses but life is...

    Fuji or Olympus

Hi Alastair, I like the size, weight and simplicity of the V1 however I don't like having to go into the menu to change settings plus a lack of external controls. The auto focus is quite good all the same. It's a great camera for family days out and I had high hopes of the new cx30-300 lens for...

    Fuji or Olympus

Having now sold most of my Nikon equipment I will be switching systems in the new year. The main reason I will be switching systems is purely down to weight. I mainly shoot birds but will also be shooting landscape, other wildlife and family days out. I've held onto my Nikon D7100 with 300 f4 and...

    Mirrorless autofocus

I've purchased a Nikon v1 with 10-30 kit lens. I'll also look for an FT-1 to attach my 300 f4. Ill give it a go and see what it's like. If I do like the mirrorless option then I might delve further into mirrorless photography. Earlier in the year I purchased full frame lenses. Although they were...

    Mirrorless autofocus

I suppose when comparing to the D7100 I'm looking for a mirrorless that locks onto a moving bird just the same as the Nikon. I currently use an optech sling strap. A monopod wouldn't be of much use as it would only get in the way when using binoculars. I'll take another look at the Nikon 1...

    Mirrorless autofocus

Hi, thanks for the replies, when I mention doubts over Sonys build quality it is in reference to having bought two LCD tv's and a Sony laptop that all went kaput after a few months. I don't know how Sonys camera division QC fairs hence my doubts but I would hope its better than the tv and...

    Mirrorless autofocus

Hi I'm thinking of switching to mirrorless but just gathering information first. How does the mirrorless autofocus compare to a Nikon D7100 for both still and moving subjects and is there a mirrorless camera that you would recommend? I'm not bothered by which manufacturer although ive doubts...
