I see the x_ pro1 is in offer at present (£949) with the 18mm and a choice of another prime. I got a x20 in an insurance deal and love the images I am getting so expect the x-pro1 to make me smile as much. Battery life on x20 is limited, what is it like on x-pro1?

Been playing with X20 Film Simulation today after liking the Velvia effect. How can you tell (perhaps EXIF) which one was used for which shot? I could write them down, but was looking for a computer method. Thanks

Yes I agree. However since these large companies spend so much research and development time on the creating in-camera effects, can we ever re-produce them ourselves in Photoshop? You may not want to of course. I have spent 3 or 4 years now shooting nothing but RAW but was pleasantly suprised...

Just got my X20 and one reason was the Fuji Velvia fim setting. While processesing some shots from last night I compared the RAW (RAF to DNG via Adobe DNG convertor) v the JPG (set on Velvia). I know that with RAW you need to apply sharpening but I was shocked at differences. Now I know...

This is SOOC and cropped to about 1/4 its original size (is that 400% or 25% crop). JPG, macro and Velvia flm settings used.

Just downloaded and used Adobe DNG convertor. Wow ... it takes a long time to convert but I suppose I can leave it running in the background. Do you delete RAF files and just keep DNGs? Keeping both will just double disk space use.

OK so have just tried out my new X20. Got a huge shock when Photoshop could not open the RAW files. So did a little browsing and found out this is difficult. So how does everybody else do it? Or do you all use Silkypix to develop the RAW files?

Insurance refund BUT with a PC World card. So as the wife does not any white goods, a camera it is. Damaged camera was a G12. The two that look like suitable replacement for £500 are G15 or X-20. I suppose IQ is my #1 requirement. Have had a G9 and a G12 both of which have scratched...

My Canon G12 has a scratched lens. Looks like insurance will cough up for a new one. So in the same price range, what do I go for ? G15, G1x, Fuji X20 .... Or ... I used the G12 as my keep in my car type of camera and also when I was out for a walk without having to take all my gear...
