You guys must be so patient - this looks like a really popular site with lots of folk introducing themselves. I presently have a little compact and am determined to improve my skills (which should be pretty easy as my skills are fairly non existent at the moment!). My NY resolution is to buy an SLR, once my ISA expires next month, and to start to learn how to take some good photos. So this is my starting point. Looks like a great place to learn loads......

Hi Sue and welcome and don't forget we all had to start somewhere - and even after 60 years taking pics I'm still learning - it's a never ending process and that's what makes it so interesting - so welcome and enjoy yourself.
