Dual Monitors keep switching positions every time I boot my PC

Hi all

Started to get an odd problem I need some help with.

My computer is a HP Envy machine fitted with a Radion R9 270 graphics card and running Windows 8.1

I use two monitors and up until a few weeks ago everything worked fine.

I have a Samsung 24 inch connected to one of the cards DVI sockets via a DVI cable and the second monitor is an ACER 22 inch connected to the second DVI socket via DVI to Din connector, only one of the two DVI Sockets on the card has the extra 4 pins that the converter needs to run the analogue monitor so they will only fit the one way.

Up until a few weeks ago everything worked fine, but now almost every other time I turn the PC on the two monitors have swooped position and lost Their resolution settings, and it's a pain having to go through setting them up and moving my desktop icons back to their usual positions.

I have the latest Radion drivers and Win 8 is fully updated.

Anyone know why I keep losing the monitor position and how to fix it.

Thanks for any help with this.

Paul

Either that or use restore to a few weeks ago when you had no problems.

Bios and drivers are all upto date and have tried the drivers from AMD's site, HP's site and the ones from Microsofts update site which I assume are whql certified drivers mentioned above and still the problem persists.

The odd thing is that when it is working properly as seen in the capture below, The 24inch Samsung is the left monitor Display 1 and the 22inch ACER is the right monitor display 2 but if i press the Identify button it fashes a big 2 on the left one and a big 1 on the right one which is wrong.

In addition to the two DVI sockets my graphics card also has a HDMI and a DisplayPort socket, I wonder if using one of those instead of one of the DVI sockets would make any difference.
