Incoming Showers

Hi Kev
Crackers them two, love those big dark clouds! Great point of focus the style, nice detail and texture. Lovely light again(y)
Like the leading line in No2 (wall) taking you off down toward that little window of light through to the peaks (magic that). I love those white clouds against the background over the black sky.
Nice work Kevin(y)

A couple of beauties there Kevin especially the first one although I do like the dramatic sky in the second.

Cracking shots Kevin. Both have real drama, both in the sky and in the contrasting sunlight.
Well worth a drenching :)

I like them both very much Kevin, #1 is a "Stunning" shot with very nice lighting, spot on composition, and great exposure.(y)

#2 also has some lovely lighting and cloud formation but for me not quite the impact of the first image, but still a very nice shot.

George.

Nice shots, I love weather related photography, were you just careful or do you have a rain cover for your camera? I have a cheap one, but tend to leave it at home as its a pain to use and am looking for a better solution.

Thanks all, yes weather related photography is great Chris, and once I have decided on the composition of the style (in this instance) the camera then is placed on a good stable tripod, I use a large shower cap which fits nicely with the 24-70mm and one of the reasons I got the D800 was the (weather sealed body), also an unbrella keeps the camera and myself happy providing the wind is not blowing a gail, easy enough to attach to my rucksack, I carry the camera in a seperate bag toploader 55AW over my shoulder, then sit back enjoy the surroundings brew up and wait for the show to begin, also the cap I have does not effect the camera once the light comes through as its easy to whip off without disturbing the shot.

Kevin, many thanks for the insight, I must admit I tend to try and position myself to avoid the downpour, but I lost a camera body during visit to the Lakes last year, despite it being tightly packed away in my bergan, I am hoping the new body (5D) is a little better weather sealed. I now use a Lowepro Rover AW II which is pretty weather resistant.
