minnnt and Mr Perceptive visit Salford Quays

Just wondering what a LE would have looked like in the shopping centre with the escalator running. :D

I have the 35mm f1.8 and 85mm f1.8 aswell so i will probably add a 70-300 which should cover my motorsport needs.

Anyway, some more from me...

Great set of images @Mr Perceptive , don't have a fav' I like them all very much.(y)

George.

Thanks, it was a great day out, helped by decent company and decent weather, the time just flew by, 8 hours at the Quays is just not enough!!!

Got a dust bunny to sort out on my X-E1 though, and need a better 67mm 10 stopper, the cheapy one is just a little soft, also tempted to get an 18-135 as I know it works well with IR, and then maybe I should get an X-T1 because I can get the 18-135 bundled....and you thought @minnnt had it bad...:D

From another thread

I was down to go on the meet to Salford on Saturday, but had to cry off due to injury. I have read the thread and was concerned that the usual jobsworth tried to chase the others off the site. I have spoken with jobsworths before and have had nothing but interest and curiosity from them. They have invariably been helpful. As I am planning a return trip, with tripod I decided to e-mail Peel Holdings who own the area and here is their reply...

Hi Frank

Please accept our apologies with regards to the incorrect information being passed to you with regards to the procedure for taking photographs at MediaCityUK Ltd.

MediaCityUK Ltd allows anyone to take photographs on site for their own personal use, however if they wish to take photographs for any commercial benefit they must obtain a permit from our permit office, to arrange this you can contact the team on 0161 855 6420 or email: permitoffice@mediacityuk.co.uk

It is the policy of the team to ask questions of people who are taking photographs across the site, to ensure they are complying with the above procedures.

If you have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards
Rachel

So it appears that Mr High Viz jacket was wrong. Now there's a surprise.

It wasn't the fact we were taking photo's though, it was more the use of tripods. He never said we couldn't use the cameras and he never asked what we were going to be using them for, just that we needed a permit to use the tripod on the whole site.

Great set of images David, wish I could have got there.(y)

George.

Thanks George. I did offer a lift half the way for you... ;)

I'm sure it will happen again mate, maybe next time we do it it will be darker sooner so it's not 2am when i get home.

That offer was much appreciated David.(y)

It wasn't the travelling or time etc, that's not a problem as a trip to Manchester is quite a common occurrence for me. I probably would have stayed up there for the night, It just ended up that I needed to be around work.:(

George.
