Hi

I have recently upgraded from a Core 2 Duo E8500 with 8GB ram to i5 2400 with 12GB of RAM. Would increasing the RAM to 16GB make any difference to LR5 or should I just save some money?

Save your money Kev, utilizing 12g's will be very hard to perform in LR!!!

Less than 50% increase will have very small impact. 24 or 36GB is your next step but before that swap out HDD for SSD if not done

Hi Kev. Have you noticed any increase in Lr with your recent upgrades?

Been thinking of upgrading a few bits in my PC so hoping to see a difference.

David,

Not had a chance to have a proper play but from the limited use I feel the brushes are a lot quicker compared to using the Core2Duo. I did not want to spend a lot so just bought a used HP 8200 i5 which came with 4GB ram for £110, added another 8gb. I already had the SSD and it seem to be working fine.
