i dont have a huge amount for a new lens but i have seen these could anyone tell me if they are worth getting or leave it?

i have a nikon d5300 and i have about a £150 budget give or take ive looked up these zoom lenses

Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II
or

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR

i know there nothing special, im just starting out taking pictures with my kit lens and loving it would just like something that zooms a little more

thanks for the help or if you reccomend a different lens please feel free to

I have the Nikon AF-S 55-200 f/4-5.6 without the VR and it is a cracking little lens. Well worth the £50 or so that I paid for it a couple of years ago. It was used but is a great lens for the money.
I would imagine that the VR model is just as sharp and obviously has the benefit of VR.

Both of these are decent lenses for the money. I've had the 55-200 and it was nice. Also take a look at the sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 apo dg which is cheap , decent and gives you some macro ability.

god all these choices now :p haha taking a look at the sigma and really good price and the tamron looks quality to god which to go for

just read that the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG wont auto focus on my d5300 as it doesnt have an internal focusing motor so thats out of the question

They do a version with the internal motor . I used one on an old D40 .

im sorry to bother im looking through ebay and cant seem to find one which says it has the built in motor dont suppose4 u could find me link so i could have a look sorry to be a pest,

I have the Sigma 70-300 as well as the Nikon 55-200 and can confirm that the Sigma will autofocus because it did on my D3100.
I would say that the Nikon 55-200 is a lot sharper than the Sigma though.
