weekly Susiejb 52 in 2015 Christmas ...and that's me finished for 2015

Hi Susie
I'm trying desperately to catch up so I think as I'm so far behind I'll kick of with envy! But I'm thinking Despair might be more apt :).
Despair, I like the first shot, nice use of layers here and detail as opposed to your second, I think the second could do with a lift in exposure.
Noise, well thought out idea and I think the lighting was well done, just needed to be a little sharper..... I have hundreds of shots where I say to myself must revisit that and sort out some issue, do I ever get round to it???:(
Envy, Another nice idea born out of a painful struggle;), I like the pin sharp focus on the ticket, Was this two shots merged I wonder or was the ticket in situ? As Carl says it has an element of 3D about it.
Inverted, I love number two took ages trying to imagine what it was, a great abstract, and fabulous lighting really well shot! Like the colour one too Nice Work(y) .... See I can still put my thumb up;)
Elements, Reminds me of a 60's / 70's album cover! don't ask me to quote which one.... Think there are some good elements there:ROFLMAO:
Seasonal, Like both of these but for me the DOF is just too acute. I love the dew / rain drops on the grass and the mushroom. But I'm with the rest on the DOF I find the OOF blades of grass in the immediate foreground distracting:(
Full, Very nice, love the colour, for me the black background makes the Orchids pop, and I am in the without the leaf camp.
Archie.... I mean Habit .... I'm going to join the others! I also have a Grandson called Archie! lovely shot works for me, like the glow of the Ipad in Archie's face too.

Writing this lot up has made me realise how behind I am :(
Hey Ho!

A couple of crackers there Susie, sorry I've been absent last couple of weeks. Let's hope for a truly inspirational theme this week. [emoji4]

Hi Susie

Love the orchid in full bloom. You have caught so much detail there at the same time keeping the background crisp  I'm in the no leaf camp.

Habit, nothing I can add to what's been said already. It's a fab portrait :clap::clap:

Now where is Covered? ;)

Hey Ho!

Thank you Steve for those smashing comments....as always very much appreciated.

Great to see kids so young using tech.

Nice lighting on his face.

Cheers.

Thanks Andy ...he's been into the ipad since he was two ...they certainly start young.

aw cute :)
Lit by iPad, that's a clever idea (very good not to have got the ipad blown out as it was the light source) and has worked really well, subtley lighting the little chap.

Thanks Tim ...yes, I was really pleased with how the lighting turned out.

Hi Brian ...thanks for looking in ...still waiting for my inspiration for this week.

Hi Jill thanks for hopping in :)

Covered ...I've had to eat so much chocolate trying to get the right shot this week .... and it's still not right yet (sigh) I guess I'll just have to plod on :D

Right ...this is IT :runaway:so far this week I've eaten one giant tube of smarties, one large bowl of banana and custard and made chocolate Cornflake cakes ....all in my attempt to get one decent photo for Covered . Tonight I decided to settle for a Baileys chocolate brownie 'covered' in cream with a topping of chocolate flakes and caramel vodka ...so I put the cream on, grabbed my camera ....battery was flat :grumpy: so I found my iphone and took this ...it will have to do for this week ......I'm moving on ....it's almost FRIDAY

Bet you had to be quick with the set up and take on this one ... not so much because of the melt rate as from the drool. Looks great.

Good effort Suzie. Food is something I've done very little of (photo wise) I remember doing a cheese nacho thing once, but I shot it under the grill all bubbling and scrummy, that way I got to eat it hot!

Thanks Brian ...I know it's not my best ...patterned plate, melting cream  ....but I've had so many failures this week it has to be the final attempt. Nachos and cheese ....sounds good ....something savoury next week maybe :D

@susiejb , great shot Susie, I bet it tasted Yummy.(y)

George.

Hi George, thank you.....how nice to see you in here ......they're signing up for next year if you fancy joining in :)

I'd love to give it a go Susie, it's just a lack of guaranteed spare time at the moment. Business commitments and all that sort of stuff.

Just fit "it" in as when you can, there is nothing to say that you have to post all 52,
I missed a huge chunk due to work commitments, this year.
But because the option was there, it made me pick up my camera more than I probably would have :)

Habit, Covered, whatever ... not your best work Susie. But thanks for sharing, looks tasty.

Hi Susie, sounds very alcoholic that cake , difficult subject matter food, but it certainly works for the theme

Thanks Allan ...we've really taken to a dash of that caramel vodka since we had some in Spain :)

Spot on Susie. The cotton looks like a signature. Like the oof reel and the b&w treatment.

Yes, I like it. ... Really good interpretation of the theme .. loving the way it's kinda animated. Nice focus job too.

Hi Susie, spot on for connected not sure the reel is needed or if it's in the right position but on reflection thats a bit harsh for what is an excellent shot
