Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

LOL its ok i won't be doing it, spent all night with a D800E and im disappointed with the amount of blurring i get, ok so I'm no expert with a Nikon nor Olympus, but this looks like its tasking a good shot then you look and its all burred.. Camera shake stuff...and yeah its a heavy bast...
Did you not consider increasing shutter speed to stop the camera shake?

Like all things mate patience is a virtue though I have read hat the high resolution large sensor cameras need much steadyer holding to get the best from them and need a tripod ar higher shutter speeds than other cameras

Yes snek I cranked it right up, I agree Alf tripod was prob what was missing, I even went into live view s mirror was up to help but it was still average... I've decided my next unit is the em1II I need stabilisation and live view it's what I know

I have the EM5-II and its IBIS is the best stabilisation I've used, by quite a margin.

Yeah me too... Only 2 hours and it's firmware release time, I'm gonna macro mad tomorrow wooooot

i presumed wrong. GRRR what time we all thinking then...

ok i know wrong forum, but while I'm waiting ive just done my Dads FZ300 with the post focus shizzle. Quite funky, you take a shot and all the boxes whizz around the screen and then you decide where your focus point is...

What lens would you all buy for super wide angle obviously the 7-14 seems like the one, but I also see there is a 9-18 cheap one.. Any others worth considering, I did some fireworks this week and I needed more wide angle than the 12-40 pro gave me.... Any LUMIX ones ?

There is a pro-spec Lumix 7-14 f/4 but it can suffer from purple blobs on Oly cameras (Google will enlighten).

I have the 9-18 and it is a nice lens, good IQ and nice and small/light, not super wide by modern standards but still plenty wider than 12mm.

I like the look of that Samyang 7.5 fisheye not bad and cheap, may have a go with one.. Thanks Nawty I'll have a think and may get the 9-18

I have a samyang fisheye that i keep meaning to put in the classifieds section, I'll have to get myself sorted

I had the 9-18mm and is a good lens.

I suppose I should just pull my finger out and buy the pro one bah

OK Guys done the update, FYI from my selection of lens i also had to update the
60mm Macro
12-40 pro
45mm F1.8 Prime

I didn't have to update the 14-42 pancake or 75-300 zoom
The feature is located in Bracketing ( shock ) it seems to go from back to front, but I'm still testing, I'm off to stack the images now see what there like.

Update completed with no problems, but haven't checked any of the new features.

I also needed to update my:

60mm Macro
45mm
40 - 150 Pro

tell me how you get on CH, I'm puzzled as to what its doing, I focus on a stamen on a flower and then it focuses by the looks outwards... let me know how you go and what you find are best settings

Is there a list of lenses that need an update? Olympus make me take my camera to a computer at work to update. And need to know if I need to take the 9-18mm 12-50 or 14-150.

the pros lens Ian and Macro it seems. and Primes....

stacking only works on pro lens and 60mm Macro, Bracketing works across all lens...

You'd think that they would issue some updated documentation to explain how to use the new features rather than letting people struggle with trial and error.

i did find a new EM5II v2 manual but can i hell of find it today... But it doesn't say much in it i must say.

Well I applied the update, but it has wiped out all my settings that I had, button and lever functions, and I cant seem to get the quick control screen back either, also icons on the lcd not seen before, looks like a couple of hours with the manual this afternoon.

anybody got the location of the updated manual ?

Anyone else had this before I update? It'd be a royal PITA to have to enter all my mysets etc again (n)
