What have you done with your camera today

Enjoyed the liberality of being able to fire off experiments (snapshoot!) cost-free that you get with digital - but the best ones from the day are (predictably?) the ones that I had time to consider before pressing the shutter. But it was all fun.

Repacked equipment for upcoming holiday into smaller think tank bag from lowepro, realised how much less space I actually needed than I thought I did :)

Took my Pentax MX down town in the hope of interesting buskers. No buskers at all, interesting or otherwise.

Took my new 24-105L for a walk at lunch ;)

Took the 50D with me at work. I'm planning to do some photos on the way home. I have to check out my new Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM (what a long name!), which will be my outdoor lens for mountaineering, where I want high quality and 5D and all that full frame stuff is too heavy. It will replace my 18-55mm STM on the 500D. Unfortunately I have to correct the focus with -7, which is not possible on the 500D. So I will replace it, although it's working fine on the 50D. But with the 50D it will not fit in the small bag and the bigger one will be in the way, while carrying it on the waist belt.

First world problems, I guess. :D

Snap! Took my MX + 80-200 M to my youngest son's football match (young? He's 25!). Did a few pre match team shots. 2 Rolls of Superia 200 later..... I think I got some goal celebrations......

One of my neighbours wanted some pictures of her 2 'Westies' yapping in their garden.

Took the EOS M with the 22mm Pancake along.... the little fellows were good as gold.....

Sun was kind, sky bright and one happy neighbour.

That 22mm f/2 really is a dream. I think it is better than my eldest's EF-S 24mm f/2.8 pancake.

Hope we have some more bright spring days ahead.... 7 days to the Equinoxe....

Walked along Aldeburgh sea front and took pictures of boats on the shingle with my Pentax MX. Took a couple with my Kodak Retina 1 as well.

The MX is a great piece of kit! Got mine ready for tomorrow with the 50mm f/1.4 M. Going into Bath but will choose film stock when I get there. Put the 135 M on the EOS 5 as a second body with adapter.

Drove to the lakes this morning to get up Latrigg in hope of an inversion, then a race back over to make it to my desk in time for work at 8.45! Typical, clear as you like, and nothing but blue skies! Made it just in time though!!

I am experiencing a slight problem in that I cannot see the meter's LEDs in the viewfinder in sunny light. Apart from that, this is my favourite camera.

I have the same with one of my ME Super bodies. I get some odd looks as I have a large dark purple microfibbe towel which I throw over my head and camera, either handheld or on tripod! It cuts light gettinv into the viewfinder eyepiece and does help. It is great for the EOS M which lacks a viewfinder. I also have an old Weston light meter which helps with getting a feel for ambient light levels. I think I paid about £3 delivered for the towel.... it has a few other uses too! Might be worth trying one. A black version would be grest - just never seen one.

Not sure I've ever been unable to see the LEDs in my MXs, except when the battery was fading... have you checked it? ;)

After today, I am thinking that the meter switch actuated by the shutter button is faulty. For several exposures, I could see the LEDs even when my finger was no where near the shutter release and then I stopped being able to see them at all.

It is not really a problem for me as I usually carry a separate meter and I have no objection to using the camera entirely manually.

Took my 70D to work and photographed some ISO certificates for our digital library :)

The snow is melting and it's bright sunshine so I tried my hand at macro to capture sparkling snow crystals with plenty of creamy bokeh :)

Took the camera out today for a few shot and also spent bought some Cokin filter off eBay.

Up early and took my EOS M to Chepstow for a wander, then on to Gloucester docks, now at a late lunch.... Heading to Worcester in a while. Not a bad day but I need some inspiration....

I played around testing auto ISO and manual exposure on my X-T10/23mm. Worked really well.

So it will automatically use high ISO values. ;)

Nah, used all kinds of values from 200-1600.

Today I put it my bag thinking I'd take some shots but didn't bother.

Discovered I need more spare batteries, so annoying when your rechargeables go flat cos they are knackered (as it turns out). Had to use the self timer instead of a battery powered remote release, ho hum.

Deliberately left it at home on a zoo visit so I could enjoy just using the Mk1 eyeballs for a change!

The Mk1s IS cam out of the 'factory' a little dodgy but usually got sharper with age..... I am noticing, though, that age and decent IS performance can cause issues [emoji1]

Supplementary stick on lenses keep things in focus these days but mean that I have to add close-up slip ons for closer work. NDs were also handy today, especially while driving with the roof down. Paid for annual pass so we can go back whenever we fancy it and have the time (with a camera!!!)

Today, I have been making the D750's mirror flap like a startled pigeon! 1600 shots of assorted Vintage Sports Cars being hurled up Wiscombe Park's hill. Can still smell the R! Just downloading from card to 'puter and will then take the card upstairs to the other 'puter and save them onto that and an EHDD. Hopefully, there'll be a couple worth sharing!

I'm in Padstow today, so wrapped my camera & lens in two dog-poo-bags, stowed it behind the passenger seat in a tesco bag, and went strolling round the town with three dogs in tow and no camera for a change... but rather disappointed as we ended up on the beach - crystal clear turquoise water and three bounding hounds all keen to retrieve anything and chase each other on the empty golden sands... ho hum!

Cleaned my camera today, planning to go travelling in few days, so it will be a lot of work for it ))
