Find a 'tog buddy'.

I'm literally brand new to photography and am looking for buddy/buddies that I could learn from, showing me tips/techniques etc. I only have a Polaroid bridge camera

Hello fellow togs.

Types of photography, I try most things, but that doesn't mean I'm good at them all.
Short notice, Married and also own a teenager so it depends.
Weekends/weekdays, full time worker so only get Sat afternoon and Sunday off (occasional full day Sat) but again, see short notice.
Day or night, I'm easy, when available.
Can travel, Yes, and often just get up and go in the evenings when there is too much tripe on the telebox.
Car, Yes, and can accommodate non psycho axe maniacs (but not on a first date).
Prefer driving into Kent than the big smoke, but will endure public transport for London jollies.

I am a hobby/amateur with standard 'kit' stuff but willing to meet any one that isn't a 'camera snob'. Always eager to learn, and have been a more serious hobbyist for about a year so have picked up some stuff along the way so far.

Not too far away from you in Ainsdale.
Got a list of disused quarries in Wales to work through this year.
Can usually do short notice on almost any day.
Sold my 5D3 and now shoot Fiji X-T2 so plenty of room for debate there.
Only one problem.....I'm a lot older than you.

oh its the age thing i understand :rolleyes:
i tend to get on with people who are older than me anyway never been to a quarrie but wouldnt mind a trip to one as long as it has got water :D
 
Water? To drink, or go cave diving in?
Some have lakes more properly known as flooded shafts. Not for the squeamish to venture into!
Lots of abandoned industrial landscapes in there.

to drink? lol no i have a image in mind that ive seen and would like my own take on. it involves a dark cave "lake" and some torches :)
 
Now that's a different kettle of fish.
We had a couple of days last year doing proper underground stuff. Lots of water and lights were used.
I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow when I'm on my PC.
The guys we went with knew all about potholing/mine exploration. Good fun.

Don't ask me to lead you in! I came up with an original idea then it snowballed and guys with far more knowledge and experience than I have joined in. Couldn't have done it without them. The Welsh mine trip we needed a kosher potholer to get the access codes to get us in....and out again.
