New DJI Osmo, handheld camera with gimbal

I am currently in Spain and have almost filled up my 64gb memory card. A lot of editing awaits me when I get back!

DJI have added Osmo Pro versions on their website, the Osmo handle with either the X5 or X5R camera.

I can't help but feel at times I should have opted for an Osmo, even though I love the Hero 4 Black and the G4S setup....

I think GoPro need to up their game to compete and create their own gimbal, rather than have customers buy a 3rd party one.

I'm still not sure about it, what holds me back is that you have to set up the phone every time to use it.

Being able to zoom, pan and tilt would be nice though, which I don't get from my go pro silver and feiyu g4.

You can shoot without using the phone.

It also seems to be doing an outstanding job when he's walking or running - seems to be a problem areas with most gimbals.

there's a few new ones just around the corner like the Feiyu 'Summon' camera/gimbal and the gimbal by Removu.

I'm looking at a gimbal for my Gopro4 just as a backup for my Osmo. I'm tempted by the EVO gimbal but it's not available in the UK yet, well it is, I'm just not willing to pay stupid shipping costs. Will wait a while me thinks :)

Well after backing the Removu gimbal last May on Indiegogo, I finally got a shipping notification this morning. It will be here by Monday.

I'm looking for something for a trip to Florida to capture as many memories as possible. I've been looking for the best option...

I really like the Summon but there have been reports of very bad sound but it seems closer to my price range than the osmo

The Osmo looks great but it would be extra potch for me to set it up with my phone for spur of the moment shooting and would also run my phone battery down. But would consider paying the extra above the Summon if it was really worth it.

The gopro option looks interesting as well as I would have a go pro which would be more versatile than the above options but I have read reliability issues with the Feiyu tech gimbals.

There always seems to be a tradeoff with which ever option I consider. I have a budget of around £400 so if any of you could recommend something I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

You can use the Osmo without connecting your phone, you just don't have a viewfinder or visual access to settings.

I finally received my Removu S1 gimbal for GoPro after backing the product on Indiegogo last May. Delivered with a faulty remote control. Very disappointed, though the rest of it looks like a quality product.
