Thanks David. I only thing I liked about the second was the more expansive sky; if only I could have got that in the first as well.
Thank you Susie.Smashing choice for the theme Carl ...love the perspective and that blue sky adds another dimension...a real eye catcher
Thanks DK - absolutely right of course about the focus being off. Another reminder of that old adage about more haste less speed. Honest as the day is long .... well, in mid winter in the Arctic but still.Hahaaaa great idea Carl !!! I think the focus could be a tad deeper on the cards as I think best detail is your thumb, but like the close PoV, and please do remind me never to play poker with you
Thanks Stan. Definitely off focus.Nice idea and agree with what Dean said about the focus.
Thanks Ruth. In too much of a hurry I guess. Honest Carl they call me - you'd buy a used car off me wouldn't you?Agreed that the focus falls just short of your left thumbnail, but what a good idea for the shot. 'Old on a minute,.....there's something decidedly fishy about those cards......
Thanks Allan. I load the deck when it comes to playing snap with the kids too.focus wise, definitely not playing card with you
Thanks Mr.C. - lacking quality control (again) I'm afraid. That's Ace, you are a card Carl. ( sorry ) I have to agree about the focus though.

...
Thanks David. Hahaha I know - taken during a break between gardening jobs.Nice hand ... dirty fingernails. Of course the focus is not spot on, but well put together and lit.
That's true Matt - whites do look a little "dirty"perhaps it's a smidge under exposed too? (whites of the cards could be whiter perhaps?)
Thanks Bernd.I have to agree on the focus, but otherwise it is a great photo.
Hi Chris. I really was stuck for ideas and rushed into this shot as soon as the thought occurred. No harm doing another version ... there's definitely room for improvement on mineAhh, Carl I was going to do game of hearts with a suite of hearts but you piped me to it ! Have to rethink now. I really like the idea and the 5 aces !
Thanks Chris, Jill & Tim. Absolutely right of course with your comments - everyone disappears when I get the camera out so selfies tend to be the order of the day I'm afraid.
Week 34 - Serene
Thank you David. It was very peaceful, laying back in the sunshine listening to running water .... until the midges swarmed around us ugh!Hi Carl ... this is not the type of image I'd call Serene, but perhaps I should .... It's beautiful, peaceful, spiritual (?). Nice long, but not too long, exposure. And I like the detail not normally found in those big waterfall shots.
Thanks Chris. Don't get the chance often to practice that misty water movement look.Just the right amount of movement in the water for me, well done.
Cheers Allan. I've forgotten where I placed the point of focus now ... perhaps bottom left !?!?i do like the movement in the water but the rocks looks a little soft to me
Thanks Mr.C. - going to bore you all now by posting another waterfall scene for the b&w theme.A nice little babbling brook Carl, as already said, just the right amount of water movement too
Thanks Mr.C. A bit repetitive with another waterfall scene so will post something a little different methinks. The processing suits this well Carl
Thanks Chris. Excellent point about the waterfall - I quite see that now.Trailer park , for me. I think the waterfall looks better running across the frame as in your serene shot. The light on the trailer brings out the details nicely.
Thanks Mr.C.
Thanks Allan. Maybe it has the same effect as a strikethrough hahaha - never occurred to me.Definitely the trailer but that fallen tree is catching my eye no idea why though
Thanks Bernd.Another vote for the trailer, great photo and great B&W conversion.
Thank you David. The only thing I'm conscious of with b&w is that the black is not overdone and that details are still discernable within the deepest of shadows ... the Levels layer for this one for instance is biased towards the lhs but clear of it ... if you know what I mean !?!?The trailer's intriguing, and I guess all those shadows make for a good B&W conversion.
