Spent a day going over some RAW files and reprocessing for last years Euro trip. One of the advantages of digital shooting is the ability to reprocess images and its easier to do that than make a 3000 mile round trip back to take a slightly better version. I believe we always are still learning in our photography journey and whilst exposure and composition cannot really be re-done the processing can be. Little things like a tweak to a curve here, changing colour channels can bring about a small but significant improvement. Its also great at reliving the memories. Sadly I am not Europe bound until next summer due to minor cash flow problems. This trip also represents a golden age for me. I had not long been back on the roads after a lengthy time out and getting back over there under my own steam was, well, awesome.

1st one. Sunlight on Millau.

2nd one. Actually took this one before but didn't like the conditions as much and hoped the lightning would come and hit the bridge so I could get a "striking" image (sorry)....

3rd one. Reprocessed this. I felt looking back it lacked punch. Not so much now. Really lovely Abbey at Solesmes and this was one of the last places I went to on the trip.

4th and 5th ones. The 1st light at Montserrat. This was a very special day with lovely light and great clarity in the air.

Finally I added a bit more saturation to this almost perfect reflection of Pyrenees at Lac D'Oredon

Absolutely. (y)

That's of the things that I like about the hobby too is being able to revisit something that is a long way away in distance terms but the ablity to go back and process them with fresher eyes, a different approach and the initial buzz of a successful outing has subdued, often provides 'different' images from the same files.

A lovely set and for me , it's the 2nd and 3rd. The 3rd one is special.

No2 clear winner for me and no reflection in sight ;)

I thought it would be popular with others but it is by far my least favourite. I nearly binned it actually. I much prefer the 1st due to the better weather. My favourite though, and perhaps its the memories attached has to be four followed by 3, then 5, then 1.

At this stage of our photography journey it is just takes. I'd be horrified if you'd find any real technical deficiencies in any of my images. Processing style and choice of locations/times/seasons/weather conditions really matter far more.

I am not a lover of the "dark and moody". I took the 2nd image really as a momento to say I've been. My pleasure comes from warm sunny weather conditions and its how I wish to see places and portray where I've been and ultimately for commercial use what I sell.

You've been awfully conspicuous by absence. Hope all is well.

Not too bad matey.

One or two things been going on but I'm looking forward to the autumn and getting the gear out again.

4/5 - that place looks amazing. Nice capture in some great light.

Montserrat is the business. The name Montserrat comes from Mont for mountain and Serrat for serrated, you can see why. Brilliant place, this is the obvious shot but theres loads you can take, but like most things, often the most shot view is the best one but I had a blast exploring the area.

Nice work Steve.
