i can take any criticism, if somethings not right/good or can be improved please let me know i am eager to learn!

So i finally managed to get to shoot my first match! i really enjoyed it and i think i got some ok images from the hundreds i took, i did however find it slightly harder than i originally thought it would be.
I have many images of the backs of players which whilst all in focus aren't very enjoyable to look at, many people jumping up in the air but no ball in the image (and they are facing backwards!)

I sat facing my home team as they were shooting into the goal besides me (i was on the 18 yard line on the goal line) for the first half, and spent the second half on the 18 yard line on the touch line (facing my home team shooting into me) i thought these would be good positions but maybe i made a mistake choosing these spots, anyone help here?

It was a 1-0 to the opposition (bottesford) and i missed the goal and was at the other end of the pitch :(

anyway here are a few of the images i took with more available on my flickr page here

Certainly got some good shots there, a difficult genre indeed is sports photography. Not done any myself so cannot advise, am sure someone will be along soon though to advise you.(y)

thanks for the comments steve, really appreciate you taking the time (I'm not sure anyone else will be along though 127 views already nothing mentioned)

A pretty good set there. This section doesn't seem to gain as many comments but perhaps it's because sports photography is either not as popular or people find it hard or unable to gain access to sporting events? I pretty much only take sports stuff as I photography my local football team in an amateur capacity which I enjoy doing.

Nope. It's because of the sad fact that most of us who used to comment or provide critique became fed up with having our posts ripped apart.

Look a good set of photos there, certainly captured the action.
I'll take your advice on board as to the best places to stand/crouch as i'm doing my nephew's footy game tomorrow.

i wouldn't take my advice Coddy I'm not sure i was in the best spots myself :)

Shame about the critique peeps getting ripped to bits for posting :/

The shots look pretty good to me action wise,I would crop slightly more on 1 & 4 & would like to see the colours pop a little more for my liking, But everybody has there own take on that.

alrighty, so managed to shoot another one on saturday, this time it was the FA vase 2nd round qualifier Hemsworth Vs Glasshoughton, maybe i need to move to the centre line because the shots are incredibly similar to the last game, just different kit and opposition.... here are a few more can be found by following the image to flickr and checking the rest of the album

Ok Picture
1 & 2 Tighter crop for action
3 good
4 player needs to be more left so have space to run into

Thanks Digi, number 4 (has no room to run into this was at 100mm he was bang in front of me not much i can do :/) the rest your right its a toss up to show the full image with everything going on or zoom right into the action, i guess i just need to be a little ruthless with the cropping :)
