Hi, Another Epson printer playing up so looking at going to Canon but as I only print for myself most of the time the Canon PIXMA PRO-100 S is a little bit over what I would like to spend so anyone like to suggest a Canon that prints colour (B&W not bothered) to A3 size and panoramics on occassions around the 200 pound mark?
Thanks
Russ

Something like the IP7850? Currently in Currys for £199 less cashback. I've not used it, but I do have an A4 MG6350 which uses the same 6 inks (including a grey) and is not at all bad (though only seems to have on paper tray) and a MG5250 which has a tray and back feeder, uses 5 inks and produces excellent A4 prints for my purposes (though with some colour cast issues on black and white).

However, check ink prices and capacities. It can be a mistake to save on a printer if the ink is more expensive. It is possible the Pro 100 ink works out cheaper (I'm pretty sure that's true of the two dearer ones, the Pro 10 and Pro 1).

Canon ip7250 great photo quality, prints cds, prints on both sides of paper inks are 12 pounds for 5 at incredable ink.

like you got sick of every Epson i bought the nozzels kept clogging up after a while bought a Cannon IX6550 A3 printer couple of years ago and it has been the best printer i ever bought it just prints no other fancy tricks
and i can get a full set of compatable catridges for £15
it produces fantastic colour prints BW not good at all but found what paper you use makes a huge diff so i stick to good quality pro paper
think the new equiv is Canon PIXMA iX6850

Hi, Many thanks for the advice, I am waiting an unglog liquid from some place called The Printer Hostpital thought give it a try before spending out yet more money on another printer. Russ

I know you're wanting a cheaper printer - but I've just bought the Epson SC-p600 and it's phenomenal. The best thing I ever bought :) You can install an eco-system which lasts for ages and ages therefore saving lots of money. It all depends what you'll be using it for I guess, but I am in love with fine art printing - its definitely made me shoot more for myself. Goodluck with your decision either way :)

I use the epson l1800 , had it 12 months still using the original ink that came with the printer,
And it produces excellent prints. Running costs are dirt cheap , to fill all 70 mil tanks costs approx
£50

Hey Christine, just read your post re the P600 and the eco ink system, could you say what make model the ink system is you are using please going to look at a second hand one of these printers next week, chap selling says its brilliant and he is getting the P800.

Wanting to get into printing some panoramics and larger prints, any heads up on it would be appreciated

Thanks.

If you have an Amex card, and have the £50 offer from Jessops saved, you could consider a Canon ip8750. £199, but £30 cashback from Canon, and another £50 back from Amex. Decent A3 photo printer for £129. Not entirely sure why I ordered a 100S in the circumstances at twice the price.

another vote for the canon pro-100. had one for 3 years and sometimes it doesnt get used for 3 months, never an issue, just spend it and get one.

Great idea - just downloaded the Jessops voucher to my card- thanks for the heads up:exit:
