Fauna, .... I wanted to find an English Dog Rose
You Donut, thats ( they are all) Flora, :p Fauna is "animal kingdom", I prefer the Teasel. But as the Damsel is on theme I'll go with that :D

Nice bench, too :)

You mean you didn't spot the hedgehog ? Well hidden ! The dog rose would of been sorted if I had found one !

I can't see a Hedgehog but Teasel is worse that an H'hog, walk passed one and the leaves scratch you to bits, pick one and the thorns stick in your fingers, sniff the flower and say no more.... that has to be a sort of Fauna

Love the teasel shot, even if it is flora rather tan fauna. I really like teasels. :)

And static...yep, that bench is going nowhere fast! :)

Fauna 4 is bang on theme, the DoF is excellent and the colours are fabulous. Bench is a good choice for Static - looks unloved and uncared for .. .shame.

Love the bench for Static. It certainly looks like it has been there for a long time, especially if you had to fight your way through nettles to get the photo you wanted.

How we suffer for our art :p

Hi Chris

Lone star is an interesting one ... those that say it needs a night sky may have a point tho.

The teasel's a beaut ... glorious colour and OOF BG. And that bench is definitely Static, love it (y)

OUCHY !!!! I hate nettle stings, but hey, for a good photo (y)

Thanks Dean, what one must do for the photo !

Not even I would have tried to shoehorn that in :D

Not so sure Chris, you have some tenuous shoehorns ! I think I might just got away with that one :)

Ahh Ruth, teasel is my favourite from the collection, I am standing by my guns that its British Plant Fauna :)

Thanks Carl, most appreciated !

We all enjoy the pain though ! Worth it for the photograph :)

Thanks David, appreciate your kind comments

Thanks All for looking in ! I am slipping behind !

Hi Chris,
Of the two, I prefer the static shot, it has the look of being part of the scenery.
Fauna is Flora really, not Fauna surely and to my eye needs a tad more DoF so that the top is also in sharp focus against the oof background.

Think your right about the DOF behind the bench Tim, I'm still not sure about a British Plant Fauna though ;) I seem to remember these plants in an old Ladybird book some 40 years ago, might pist the hedgehog on the next reshoot

Hidden - I like the effect from the oof foliage in front adds to the theme.
Lone - great capture good idea.
Fauna - I like the flowers especially the teasle but surely they are flora not fauna so it has to be the damsel fly good colours and great detail on it especially the wings
Static - Right on theme it has stayed still but the plants are taking it over.

Thanks Alison, lagging behind a touch ! Need to make a better effort ;)

Catch up on the way !

Week 36 Ancient The Makronisos Tombs Cyprus, came across these right next to our resort. From around the Hellenistic and Roman period.

Not the best of pictures, i had a sense of respect and didn't want to enter ! Plus they were pitch black inside :(

Week 34 Serene, same day as the visit to Gloucester managed to stop over at Croome Court. The church isn't used now for services, such a shame.
Just liked the quiet and serenity on the day. I wanted the trees through the glass window but not sure of the exposure inside ?

Cor! Good catch-up. Love that Game shot best of the set Chris - excellent DoF creating that 3d effect and the vibrant colours.

I like the faded white in you black and white, nice light, good details and game is very well caught, good catch up

I seem to have missed loads Chris, smashing dragonfly for Fauna, but I do like that lovely teasel :)
Love the window with the trees outside for Serene, I really like how you've done that, I just keep wanting to give it a slight left rotation !
Black and white is interesting too, I like the muted shades and the touch of light, well spotted.

Hi Chris

You ancient photo is right on theme, but doesn’t work for me.
I like your photo for game, brilliant colours and excellent use of DoF.
I like your idea behind the serene shot, but I think the inside of the church is under exposed. I know HDR is frowned upon, but… Also, your is not horizontal.
Great shot for B&W, nothing at all to criticise!

Great catch up!

Hi Church window is very good just that little rotation mentioned above would improve it

the bollard seems a little murky, but I do like it, just seems to have lost a little detail

Nice catch up Chris, the "game" is certainly colourful, but I do rather like the tomb (I'm strange like that :D )

I like the tomb too, but I'd crop the green off the top and tweak something to lighten it up down there. :)

Game is a nice catch, nicely focused. (y)

I love your teasel Chris - great dof ,lovely detail and you captured the delicate colours of the flowers beautifully. I like the vibrance of game, too - the bloke in the background looks like he's biting his nails in anticipation...!

Hi Chris,
Ancient - Interesting shot, and one that put me in mind of the entrances in the valley of the kings in Luxor, so it sold Ancient to me immediately.
Game - The one thing that struck me was why are they shaking with the left hand? It had me looking to see if the shot was reversed (which it isn't ). Good use of DoF to make them pop from the image.
Serene - It feels a bit washed out and it's a shame the sky outside wasn't brighter. Also it's a bit on the tight side. Maybe one for a re-shoot?
B&W - Well executed narrow DoF shot. Shows exactly what can be done with the f/2.8 70-200 :)

Ahh well, not been around for a while due to commitments at work. Feel frustrated as I was in my opinion managing the 52 and wanted to complete. I have to thank all the members for their encouragement and time taken to post comments really helped.
I' am tempted to give it another go in 2017 so who knows might just pop in occasionally.

Once again thanks for a great thread and hope to post in the New Year

Chris

Hi Chris

I was wondering what happened to you. You done/did well in '16, maybe you'll complete '17 if not this one.
