Nikon D750 & D780

Easy done!

You can't go wrong with the 20mm f1.8G its a stellar lens though!

I'm in a similar boat to you lens-wise (albeit on Pentax now).

I think of 24mm as being about as wide as I like to shoot but there is the odd time where more is better, the 20mm G for Nikon filled that role for me but there isn't as many options on Pentax, I've got an older 20mm f2.8 FA which seems nice but I've just ordered the Pentax 15-30 (re-badged Tamron) which will cover off any wide base I think (and saved about £400 in the sale!)

Nice work on the saving.(y)

I've got an old 20mm/f2.8 which I like because it's small enough to go in a pocket, but it's focusing mechanism makes horrible noises (it was cheap...), and I really like the 28mm/f1.8 so the 20mm version (which I've read plenty of good reports about) should make a nice companion for it.

Time to flog off some gear I think! :)

I love the lens so much ive bought a 150mm filter kit, NDs and CPL to accompany it... oh and a new bag to bring it all along. Highly recommended from me

Slightly OT, but would be interested to know what filter kit you bought and what you think of it as I'm looking for something currently to cover my 24-70 Tamron @82mm

In finally back on the Nikon wagon after falling off and moving across and now I'm back.

Camera has arrived safe and sound in just awaiting my lenses to come through.

I've purchased a Sigma Art 35mm
NIKON 1.8g 85mm
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS
I assume it's a D750 as the post is in this thread, what did you move across to?

Great selection of lenses there.

Loving the 85 for portrait work at the mo. If I go out with the kids, the bag has the 85 and 35 in it.

I love my 70-200 but it's too big to lug around all day!!

I'm sure you'll make some magic with that set up!

Exactly my words when I gave up on Nikon :D lol
Weird isn't it how we have different views. Fuji is great for everything but landscapes, Nikon is great for everything. IMO of course :p

Exactly, what's acceptable for one person may not be for another.
I think it's fair to say that no camera is perfect.
I initially left Nikon due to the size & weight setup but that didn't mean the performance was a problem.
I still believe that Nikon has the advantage when it comes to AF-tracking but for me it's not a big requirement.
As a brand Nikon is great and I would have stuck with them if they made a serious mirrorless system like the Sony A7 series or built more native DX lenses.

Yeah but at least you could post some non birding pics in here and might get some comments haha :D:D;)

I can always post my images from the D500 in here then that are non birding related ha ha

I have come back. I had it before the Fooj. It does feel somewhat bigger but I like! I feel like I mean business.

Never used a zoom but one was going so cheap I had to try it to find out for myself if I can use it plus means I can finally shoot a bird or something.

The 35 was my go to lens I loved it for street. I was tempted by the Art 24-35mm but was £200 more and that meant no 85mm

Yep size and weight is definitely an issue sometimes with FF DSLR :(

Getting my stuff gathered up for heading to Tenerife on tuesday, is it wrong that the first stuff into the case is tripod, filters, walking boots and head torch and i'm ignoring childrens clothes, beach towels etc:p

That's not wrong, the only you'll have is getting the family to understand that photos are more important than them regardless if they aren't in any ;)

Fair doos you are taking the kids though:);)

Not always pall as your FF is lighter than my crop lol
True, but I'm yet to find a light FF DSLR but there are plenty of light Crop DSLRs hence my comment :p
