What's your issue mate?
As minnnt says what's the issue? Why don't you post up an example to see if we can offer advice?

Single point focus. Pp is in camera raw adjust levels and then just sharpen a little in cs6 that's it.

Does camera RAW have clarity and dehaze?

You should have a go with MF too. LV, 100% zoom in. Are you not at 600mm because 500 is better?

i have clarity slider but not the dehaze slider.

i havent tried mf ill try live view and i chopped down to 500 as id tried 600 and was trying something different

i just cant seem to get them right not sure what is going on.

perhaps its the sigma or its just me but @Paulie-W seems about 10 times sharper than these.

On a tripod with a remote, os off.
They don't look too bad. When I downloaded the originals they are a bit soft, maybe it's the atmosphere or maybe it's your focussing. I've tried LV both Af and MF and actually find AF gives just as good results. Mfing on a 600mm lens that you then zoom in on is quite tricky as the image in the VF moves a lot ime. I'd also increase focal length to 550mm. I do think that you can enhance them further in PP too, I had a quick play but only using the jpegs from your flickr so not much flexibility.

Clarity, Contrast, and pretty much everything else is what I used ... Don`t be put off though mate :D

Cheers for all the replies. I'll keep at it and try the lv next time. As by the time I read all these replies the cloud have come over.

Hopefully at the weekend I should be out weather permitting to see if I can get some bird in flight owl action.
I'd best get a d500 first thou. [emoji6]

Here's one of my better examples, EXIF shows the settings. I can't remember if I used MF or LV AF for this though.

This is the same image processed differently using 'fake bracketing' (used the image above and created two extra copies with +/-1 EV exposure) and then using photomatix to do a HDR. Obviously I wasn't doing it for DR but I find the HDR in photomatix can sometimes bring out more detail. Also I think this looks more spherical rather than a flat disc, could just be me though o_O (if you flick from one to the other on my flickr you should see what I mean ;) They're best viewed on flickr anyway as this site seems to oversharpen them IMO)

It's tipping down with rain here and the gritters are out. I'm sure there is some logic there.
