A couple from yesterday's walk up to Middle Fell (582m) - one of the less trodden routes in Wasdale but holds some of the best views. The snow has been a little on the disappointing side which means a decent hike to find the good stuff.

These were taken with a wee Fuji XT-10 while my big camera is away getting fixed:

A couple of nice shots Stuart
You do not need a big camera with a flappy mirror to take good shots :p

Lovely.
The lack of snow doesn't detract for me, it allows the mix of light on the landscape and the white fluffy cover.

Cheers Alf, I know you love that Olympus! Must admit to being quite impressed with this wee thing, although it can't match my other image quality wise, definitely have to work harder with the Raw files although I've no doubt in the future I might consider something smaller/lighter even if it's still FF. The hike up was alot easier mind :D

Found my eye being drawn all over the image such are the contrasting colours and shades. A pleasure to view.

Lovely images, beautiful colours.

I totally agree. Wonderful light and attention-grabbing images.

A couple of nice images Steve. You've captured the landscape superbly.

Lovely images, beautiful colours.

Well worth the hike, two very nice images.
Thanks alot everyone

These are superb Stuart and love those fuji does seem to render colour so well.

Wonderful capture, giving light/tones amazing situation their values and quality. Difficult to choose between these two.....maybe the second has that added zone of grass in the foreground making it also more
intriguing. But both excellent for my tastes.
All the best,
sandro

Good work there Stuart, the light is rather delicious with a great sky. I think these look better here on the white background than the flickr black

Beautiful shots, Stuart. Well composed and great lighting.

I love them, take the XT10 out more often!

I think that is what is good about your photography actually, that you get yourself elevated in all sorts of conditions, which obviously gives a mountainous feel to the images. Crikey I wish I lived in Wales/Lakes/Scotland.

Love the light.
Thanks everyone much appreciated.

@Craig_85 The small Fuji has certainly gave me something to think about - I'm probably still young and fit enough to not have to worry about the weight of the kit when fell walking but it was certainly nice flying up there without the added bulk. These were actually a little fortunate focus-wise as they were shot hand held with a Samyang 12mm MF so I was just happy to get any of these in focus without the tripod, my hands were a bit blue! I did attempt to mount it but was far too windy so the quality these came out at from circa ISO 400 on a crop was pleasing indeed.

Handheld? quite impressed wouldnt of been able to tell
Cheers yeah I had my back up tripod with me (cheap, flimsy plastic thing) while the other is away getting replaced and it was an absolute waste of time. Makes me laugh how I ever used it in the first place. The tiny size of that fuji made the handheld stuff not too bad, really light and easy to use

A couple of great images. Personally I prefer the first image for both format and the way that the light is more selective in what it is illuminating.
