The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

no surprises from the x-t20 or x100f. I'm sure they will sell well.
hopefully there will be some x-t10 bargains coming.

Assuming that i can trade the X70 in the trade up deal I'll very likely get myself a XT20,
I like the X70 but the chance of extra trade value towards buying a XT20 means it's likely to go [emoji853]

I'd prefer a XT2 but I'm going to go with the cheaper option.

I have absolutely no issues with the image quality I am getting from the X-T10 (in fact I love them) and no real need for a touch screen (which I will most likely have switched off the majority of the time) or the ability to shoot video. Much of what I shoot stands very still (like buildings), so the improved autofocus, whilst useful is not essential to me... and yet I really, really want an X-T20!

Looks good, but for me I'd sooner have an ISO dial than a drive-mode dial if I couldn't have both.

Complete opposite for me, find the ISO dial on the XT1 very fiddly (much better on the XPro2) and much prefer the menu based method on the XE2

Really tried to like the XT10, but just couldn't find a comfortable way to hold it, was hoping the new model might be slightly different to have another go

This is true of me too which is why I have the Xpro1 and haven't gotten rid of it yet. I shoot mostly manual so af isn't too important. I have an XPro2 which I use now (again mostly manual focus) but I do find the resolution and af very very useful!

I shoot video on occasion and the Fuji series bar the XT2 are all pretty useless however I am finding it very hard to justify the XT2 having he XPro2 especially given I'll use the xpro2 around 85% of the time.

The xt20 fills the video gap, had the same af and sensor and the bonus for video of a touch screen (assuming you can follow focus on screen with touch).

I just hope the £899 rumoured price is right as it means finding £500 less which I could probably do by moving out a few bodies and my 60mm macro that just don't get used.

I wonder when it'll be available to buy?

X100F £1249, that's crazy, maybe Fuji have employed the bloke from Olympus that set the pricing for the new OMD EM1 mk2 lol
The original X100 back in 2011 was about £1000 so a £250 increase seems reasonable. However for somebody who has a collection of XF lenses and isn't too concerned about size could buy a X-Pro2 instead which also has the hybrid EVF!

Yeah but the X100T in 2017 is £779, you're not going to convince me that £1249 is reasonable :D

if you wait the equivalent 6 years the x100f will have fallen to the equivalent value. "Brexit willing"

Prices are always relative.

It's not just Fuji / Olympus, everything is going up. My favourite example is the D750, it's been as low as £1100 in the UK previously, it's £1549 now, and that's for a > 2 year old camera! Canon are no different, take the good old 135mm f2, £900 now, it used to hover around the £650-700 mark.

Most kit is at least 20% more expensive than it was 9 months ago.

This is partially due to brexit with dollar and GBP rates and partially due to the strengthening of the yen. Over all the difference works out close to 22% (or there abouts as I checked a month or so back) so a 20-25% increase will come as part of this.

The bonus is second hand values should go up. Wex are quoting higher on some trade in lines now than MPB were when I had a quote from them s couple of weeks ago. At the end of the day it's all relative. I'm just glad I have my glass as the only hard pill to swollen moving forward will be with bodies.

Also its wise to save up and take advantage of Fuji double cash back offers. Every penny counts. :D

Wex have the Xt20 at £799 with a further 80 trade in.
I've just had a call about this, get some of my Fuji kit in to them to use as store credit and get on the preorder list. A healthy saving of £500 over the XT2 with no loss of features that I would like/require. Bring on end of feb!

my XT-1 plus grip could be on the move, hmmm ... I do like my ISO dial though. And tilt screen ... hmmm

Yes I'm looking at this for the future.
Even though I love my D750 and lenses I found my Xt-1 last summer much more "fun" to use.

Difficult to elaborate but I did love the Fuji colours.

I wish I could afford 2 systems.

And I appreciate you selling it to me :)

I find the XPro2 more "fun" where as the XT1 is closer to the canon kit I had. XPro2 speed, 4k, image quality in an alt type body that doesn't cost £1400 wasn't a possibility but now it is. It would be a second body for imaging but a primary for video and I don't film outside so weather sealing isn't important. That touch screen however is a welcome bonus for the video side and for me the £500 saving, the weight saving, the touch screen etc far outweigh weather sealing and an ISOdial.

Had a brief chat with a D500 user yesterday. Not sure he quite believed me that the X-T2 has the same size sensor (in mm) as his and that the 100-400 + 1.4x telecon was as near as dammit the same focal length and f/stop as his Sigma 150-600 and all in a helluvalot lighter!

Does the X-T20 have the "nipple" like the T2?

I'm amazed how much I use this feature, when I never used the arrow keys on the T1...

I think people complaining about the X100F price need a bit of a reality check.

X100T launch price £1099, X100F £1249, that's a 13.6% increase

XT10 launch price £499, XT20 launch price £799, that's a 60% increase

Its the XT20 that is relativly more expensive and even when bundled with lenses eg X-T10+18-55 launch £799 now XT20+18-55 £1099 - 37.5% increase

Why would he think one crop sensor is much smaller than another? He was probably getting mixed up with M 4/3?

Yeah when I bought the X100s, I paid €1100, No way I'd have spent that much if I wasn't a bit flush at the time though. I was shooting Nikon FX and had no plans to switch. But looking at the new breed, I know I would buy the XT20 with a pancake lens now without hesitation before the x100f.

Well I've just ordered an X-T2 :)

With the extra £100 trade-in deal coming to an end very soon, I thought I'd take the plunge.

Nice enough deal in Jessops - they discounted the camera from the £1399 list price by 5% to £1329, allowed me £226.66 for my X-T10 + the extra £100 bonus, so £1002.34 to pay when it arrives.

Given that I only paid £545 for the X-T10 kit from the refurb store back in March and I still have the 18-55mm to sell, that trade-in price is great!

Can't wait for the X-T2 now...

That's a great result Sir, looking forward to seeing your work with the new camera.(y)

George.

That's very nice Sir, nice sky, some really good reflections, and well composed with a good base provided by the rocks in the foreground.(y)

George.

Thanks George

Doesn't look dull in your shot :). My only quibble would be (and I think this about an awful lot of landscape shots) that I wouldn't have made the near horizon quite so sharp - even though the loss of saturation in the next layer back gives a lovely sense of depth anyway. But that may just be because I'm a little short-sighted when I'm not wearing driving glasses, so "natural" to me isn't quite the same as for those with 20-20 vision...

Thanks Dave its old school of front to back sharpness I suppose.

Lovely shot! Looks pretty much the same sort of composition as when I used an 24f1.4 on a 5dii. Far more of your image is in focus which is a huge benefit to the shot. Shot around f8?

Brilliant Graham !!!!

Thanks Mate

Beautiful well composed lndscape with excellent range of colour tones and detail.

Cheers Phil

A big shout out for Fuji service, had the misfortune to drop my 16-55 onto the kitchen floor. While it was still in perfect working and and still sharp the fall had a put a dent into the filter thread so you couldn't attach a filter.

So sent it off to Fuji last Thursday, I mentioned it to them that although it was still in warranty but I had dropped on the floor so I it was accidental damage. I've been waiting for them to contact me all week with an estimate to the cost of the repair but lo and behold I knock on the door yesterday and the 16-55 turned up. All repaired and no charge.

Quality service.

I can just imagine a sagely looking Japanese guy sealing the box back up with the slightest of smiles on his face as he sends it back out.

Doing it free is great service, doing it as a surprise is pure class.

Don`t post that on the D750 thread, might upset a few people:)

Lol the funny part was I have been saying to the wife on Tuesday night that I was hoping to hear from Fuji this week has to the cost.

Not only did do it for free but I was impressed with the turn around time 6 days to get it back. I remember when I had a problem with my Nikon 300mm f2.8 that was turned round in 6..... weeks!!

I'm looking forward to cheap old stock and used prices going down now for the X100T!

My thoughts exactly. I bought a used X100 for my sister at Christmas, and I nearly cried handing it over, luckily she thought they were tears of joy [emoji51]

Only thing putting me off going X-T1 to X-T20 is the viewfinder - think I would notice much difference in practice?

Thanks for any replies :)

I shoot with an X-E2 and X-T1, and whilst the X-T1 clearly has the bigger evf, unless I shoot one straight after the other, I don't notice the difference in practice. I'm usually too busy trying to work out where the iso dial has gone!!
