anyome have any experience with this printer? Looking to pick up a home photo printer and don't really want to shell out the cost of the pro series. This printer seems to have positive feedback however it's been out for a while and shocks seem low, here in nz, which makes me think it might be due to be replaced sometime soon. Should I wait? I hate waiting but if something new is close it's probably worth it?

I've had one for a couple of years so I guess it's due for a refresh from Canon

How do you like it? I'm primarily interested in print quality and to a lessor extent speed. Thanks

Got one at Christmas as there was a canon cash back deal plus a £50 rebate on my Amex to be used at Jessops.

I found I had a Magenta colour cast on the prints which lead me to think my monitor needed calibrating but I had a chance to try out the Pro 100 S and found the print colour / quality much improved straight out of the box ( although I still intend to pic up a calibrator).

I sent the IP8750 back as I'd only had it a couple of days as there was a deal on the pro 100s and I would say it's worth the extra provided you pick one up at the right money ( seen them on offer at the camera show NEC in the past)

Basically the IP8750 was costing me £120 net new which was a bargain but when I saw the pro 100 s results I personally thought it was worth the extra.

Not a hitch, no colour cast, just gives nice true to my calibrated screen prints. Can't comment on speed as I tend to leave it processing / printing while I have a cuppa :)

//Edit// it is quite slow to get ready to print after a fresh switch on

As with many inkjet printers, it tends to burn some ink for head cleaning at each startup when not used frequently.
Quality wise, I am quite satisfied. It is rather slow when using the best quality modes, but this is not important for a printer not intended for office work. No obvious color cast (of course it depends on paper used), especially when using appropriate profiles, which cannot be found from manufacturer sites (unlike the more upscale models).
Permajet provides a free of charge profiling service for their papers, that works well.
