The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Quick afternoon visit with @mickledore today to Bolton Steam Museum, always amazed how sharp the 56 is when stopped down a bit

Could be my eyes, I've got a stinking cold, but the letters on those plates or dials doesn't look very crisp to me (probably the download from flickr)
Not a criticism, only commented because you mentioned how sharp the 56mm was and to be fair my cheapo
XC 16-50 is no worse than that

I think it's a Flickr 'thing', the original is very sharp on my monitor

More than likely, do you agree though its not survived the transition too well, viewing on a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 which is quite clear

That's very nice Sir, great comp', really nice mono PP work giving a good full range of tones with detail in the highlights & shadows, and for me just about the right amount of movement in the water.(y)

George.

Thanks Dave though I think I prefer the colour version.

Thats lovely, some great light on the foreground rocks and the ripples in the sand lead you into the picture.

Thank you both, very kind! And it's horses for courses with the mono version I think. They're both very nice!

Hi fellow Fooj users don't know if this has been posted before or if it is of any interest to any of you?
I have been looking for a lead that would fit my Quantum battery pack I used with previous flashes and bodies.
Any way I came across a couple of these battery packs with lead/ coupler to use with my fooj bodies.
one is rated at 7600mAh the other at 16000 mAh see pics

There more pictures on my flickr account
Im about to run tests on it over the next few days and if anyone is interested I will post some feedback on its performance it fits most of the Fuji range that takes the standard battery but if you have a X-T1 or X-T2 you will need the grip.

So, is there a dedicated flash for the xt2 yet (apart from the obscenely expensive 500 thingy)?
I've heard of people getting their Nissin i40's firmware upgraded so it works.
Is this true or now the xt2's been out a while are there any other options?

I imagine my Lencarta radio triggers will work ok?

I purchased the Meike MK-320 it doesn't offer HSS as far as I know ? not checked TBH but it works extremely well for a small compact unit offering TTL and manual.:)

Blimey. As Graham said recently, you take a few days off and come back to a load of great shots. @Mr Perceptive in particular!

I've been spending a long weekend in Pembrokeshire working on my landscape. And it does need some work! There wasn't a lot of light at times, but at least it didn't chuck it down the entire time...

This one is from a lovely little village called Manorbier, which I warmly recommend.

I do like that Dave:)(y)
That looks to be a excellent spot for the future as Im hoping to visit Pembrokeshire in the not to distant future .

Just a candid street style shot of a young lady playing a Flute (I think) to try and get some money to survive and accompanied by her dog. And yes I did ask if I could take the shot and naturally I put some money in her pot.

I never knew Bolton had a steam museum despite working round the corner from Atlas Mill for 12 years and still dropping my wife off to work in Bolton every day!!

I plan one day to go to the fire engine museum in Rochdale but they are only open on a Friday.

Come on now play the game ! your making me want to go down there sooner rather than later Dave !
Another splendid piece of work (y)
Thanks!
If you go, my latest discovery in Pembrokeshire is Marloes Sands. The route there is a bit vertiginous and I'm not sure any of my pictures did it justice, but it's amazing. Like a giant's playground!

Some great photo's in here, I must admit I do miss the banter of the XT2 thread!! Really enjoying using my K1 for landscaping though and even travelling last weekend its extra size wasn't really a trouble....X100F looks good though!
Been looking at your Flickr Chris and you're really making the K1 look like a fantastic camera. I'm ex-Pentax myself, so happy to see it shining in capable hands!

I'm struggling with this one. I can't decide if i like it or not or if all the elements like the door frame and signs add context or just distracting? It's a bit soft too.

I think it definitely tells a story. Between the CASH ONLY sign, the look on his face and the CLOSED sign it doesn't look the most welcoming cafe! Might be worth trying to tone down the highlights on the left and maybe bring some more detail to the closed sign as it took me a moment to spot it.

Yeah that's the bit bugging me the most I tried to tone it down but it looked weird I'll try with the raw file later.

Any experience here of the best Fuji Lens Rental option in the UK? Seems a few now offer them.

A shot of an Epiphone Dot 335 tailpiece. Shot taken in my studio using a black paper back ground and three studio flash heads each with a largish softbox fitted.

I quite like this but it's a missed opportunities image. If she decided to jump 5 seconds before, my little boy would have been framed under her legs.

Another from the weekend. Not quite my usual style, if indeed I have one, but I was just leaving the beach for the day when I saw this bunch of rocks, and couldn't resist waiting for someone to come along...
