I like to see a dog's nose in focus instead of a fuzzy blur. Pity the eyes are a bit soft. If you stop the lens down a bit you might get get them all in focus. :D
Yeah done on live view so not as accurate I find. But had to use the 1.8 otherwise I'd get moaned at lol

Live view's actually more accurate so it's user error :p

Question, as Iive in a very bright sunny place[emoji41] would I be best to use a cpl filter on my Tamron 150-600 when it arrives or what would you use/do?

At f6.3 (preferably f8) I very much doubt it ;)

I found myself running against this alot again today. 1/8000 prob still wouldnt have been enough but 4000 was meaning i was having to drop to f2.2 to get a balanced exposure on my 85 [emoji15]
Did you try ISO low?

Haha not tried that yet, not got the bloody lens yet [emoji34] either. I'll keep you posted.
I can't see you needing it with the 150-600mm. I've never hit the shutter limit with f2.8 let alone anything slower.

Yeah I did try that but had seen folk say it added noise.

D810 has ISO 64 as a base so you'd have been fine I reckon. ;)

I kind of wish a had gone to that over this, miss my d800's body and controls. Think I only hit the limit with that once or twice at 1.4.. becoming a hindrance with the d750, that and the iso change bringing the screen on still bugs the sh*t out off me.

D820 will be out soon ;)

As for noise at ISO low I'm pretty sure it'll be imperceivable ;)
