Now its time for Panasonic to restructure

A press announcement from Panasonic about a restructure sounds possibly worse than it is for us camera purchasers, they also released this and page 67 contains the nitty gritty in a small section, looks to be close to the Nikon situation.





In the Visual and Imaging Business, despite a decrease in digital camera sales due to a
contraction in the market for popularly-priced products such as compact cameras, sales
increased as the decline was offset by growth in sales of high value-added products
among digital cameras, such as mirrorless cameras

I'd be surprised if Panasonic did a Samsung and left the market but I suppose anything is possible and looking at the plunging sales, tumbling profits or indeed rising losses it's difficult to understand why anyone stays in the camera/lens business.
