Nikon D750 & D780

I've just realised that on playback of your pictures if you push the ok button it takes to 100% zoom in on where the camera focus point was. Wish I'd found that out earlier haha

Nice to get some sunshine today, so popped down to sevenoaks wildlife reserve (bugger all wildlife), and managed these ...

Birch pic's a cracker.

I like the train pic, although it's a bit tight at the bottom.

Muppet, it's one of the most valuable features ;)

My First ever train pic. I saw lots of cars parked next to the Shap line so stopped and joined in.
I cropped out the fence at the bottom, hence little room.
Those with experience took along some stepladders to obviate this.
D750 makes beautiful clean files but that buffer soon fills.

Ahh right, bloomin fences ;) Should get about 12-15 shots before the buffer fills I believe, did you really need that shooting a train?

So just trying the 58mm f1.4 to check for any issues. It was front focussing a bit on my body so its at +10 which seems to have done the trick. Critical focus is hard at 1.4 hand held! Wouldn't say that this lens is super sharp wide open - but it's not designed to be. Of course proper tripod tests or outdoor shots will probably be a better test, but for now this will do. Focus was on the left eye as you look at the photo.

This is jpeg straight from the camera in with all sharpness settings etc. set to as they were from factory.

When I first got my D750 I simply went through the various menus and set it up in the same way I've set-up every other Nikon I've owned, but today I did something shocking...

I read the Manual !!!

And after playing with a few 'clever' things it does that I've never bothered with before its now set to...

Exactly the same way I've set-up every other Nikon I've owned lol

Well if it works, why change it :)

Looks 'sharp enough'. Can't help but think you've focussed on the wrong eye though ;)

Nice cat, and you've mentioned it probably isn't the best test - but I'm really not seeing what the fascination is with this 58mm. Can't see anything that make me goes "WOW! - that lens cost a lot of money and it shows!" But then I know sod all! :D

I like this one, the Zebra with 2 mouths, The conversion to B&W has done this one proud.
Its one thing I have not thought about doing with my few Zebra shots.
Thanks. Seemed the obvious thing to do considering the background ;) (background is natural btw, fortunate shadows and exposure :D)

Just got the shipping details for my Tammy 150-600 G2, should be with me tomorrow with any luck :)

I received my D750 last week and after using Canon bodies since around 2004 in all honesty I've found the Nikon Menu system to be a little strange and thumb directional dial slightly too small but I absolutely love the image quality I've had from it so far! No regrets whatsoever!! :nikon:

I found that at first too, but you'll soon adapt and get to love working with the files.
