Nikon D750 & D780

TBH though Justin, you've took a poxy shot in s*** light. You need to use this lens or know how to use this lens to get the best out of it. Shoot some people in some nice light and it will sing. This wasn't built to be the sharpest tool in the box (or bag) it was to try and replicate the awesome creamy OOF areas like the old noct lens did. I agree that the price is ridiculous but it's a specialist lens rather than just a knockabout lens.

The Sigma lenses are stonkingly good though. If you get the dock and a lab coat, you will be able to precisely tune it to be as sharp as a razor from wide open at all focus distances. Worth £40 all day long imo.

Yawn

Build quality? The Art series are awesome! Makes the 35mm 1.4g feel a bit cheap and the makes the £1300 58mm feel like a toy!

Really is such a disappointment, unless this is a bad copy of course.

In actual fact i think Nikon could learn a thing of 2 about build quality from the Art line.

Is this a bad copy that you'll be selling on here in a week or two?

Nope, been shooting with it all day today and I'm not happy with it. Maybe i put it on backwards or something in my amatuer ways?

It's gone back to its owner this evening and up to them what they do with it.

Let's see some of the shots to see what you're talking about. Are you saying it wasn't sharp? Did you fine tune?

I would never knowingly sell a lens that i believe to be faulty. If this ever did happen i would of course offer a full refund as i did with @AndrewSt as didn't test the lens before so sent to him which was an error on my part!

Sorry build quality was the wrong terminology.

What I meant was the qc of the sigma lenses. They have seemed to iron out a few of the issues with the art series. Hence why I'm considering the 24-70.

But can't wait to see different shots with it. Just to see of it is really worth all that extra money.
I appreciate it may not be everyone's bag to spend all that money on a 50mm lens. I know i couldn't justify that price tag on something that is use once in a blue moon.

Anyway look forward to seeing some more pictures from it or seeing it in the classifieds [emoji3] [emoji6]

50mm? Err... it's a 35 which you can get for the same price as the 35mm 1.8g, so not super expensive!

It's not designed to be sharp as far as i have read, this copy has a serious front focus issue, even at +20.

My piggying phone is obsessed with 50mm. It always changes 35mm to 50mm if I'm not looking.

You maybe able to get a sigma 35mm 1.4 art for under 400 quid I can't [emoji6]

Nope not under, but you can for just over. One on eBay for 429.99 right now!

What brand new and UK model?

Nah of course not lol. Actually looks a little bruised so maybe not. Mint ones seem to go for around £500 on here.

Also includes: Box, lens hood, rear/front caps.

Condition - Good
Cosmetics: 3.5/5 Body mostly fine - has a couple of minor marks on grip & small dent near base. Rear mount shows some use.
Mechanics: 5/5 Focus rings is smooth. Blades are snappy. AF is fast & accurate.
Glass: 4/5 As with most used lenses, some insignificant dust visible if examined closely under light. This has no impact on image quality whatsoever

A little bruised haha

But it's got a box and bag so it's a bargain

What is this obsession?!
When I first joined this forum in the classifieds nearly every time something came up for sale 95% of the time the first question everyone asked was about the box or the pouch. Not if it was in good working order.

Sorry it had always made me chortle

Simple things please simple people [emoji106]

If it's got a box it's sure to work as intended! Anyway, people should be happy with all these bargains I offer, well actually they all have been!

Next unboxed lens going on soon! No idea how to price this one as brand new they are so over priced!

Definitely a buyers market on here at the moment, when I joined it used to be mad busy but now it's pretty much dead!

It's a DX lens anyway (16-80) so MPB might be best option. They will mark it up £190 though!

Had a last minute dash Saturday to snap a mothers day picture. In all of that I missed an obvious picture in the first edit, funny how that can still happen..

I'm well happy with my 70-200 !!
Eagerly looking forward to your next bargain offering :D

There's two Sigma 35mm F1.4 ART lenses on Gumtree at the moment £500 and £480 but always worth making an offer !!

Grumtree can be dodgy for camera equipment. The most common place to sell stolen gear according to the police

I received my D750 last week and after using Canon bodies since around 2004 in all honesty I've found the Nikon Menu system to be a little strange and thumb directional dial slightly too small but I absolutely love the image quality I've had from it so far! No regrets whatsoever!! :nikon:

Starting fresh by Mike Meal, on Flickr

Are you Cornwall based, Mike?

I've often thought this to be the case. Only used it once for my Canon 70-200 mk2 which sold very quickly, but as for buying from it..

Only just.... ;)

Lovely shot, by the way! Will be back in Cornwall over Easter, so will hopefully sneak out at some point and visit Bodmin Moor.

Ha yeah I guess :)

Feel free to give me a shout if you head down this way, will gladly give you a couple tips for good locations if you need them.

Never used gumtree but guessing they don't take half your profit like paypal and eBay do?!

Hmmm - Might try selling my D300s + MB-D10 on Gumtree.
I might be interested in this, ill be in the UK in a week or 2 and you wont be a million miles from me :)
