Table Tennis - 2017 National Championships

I love the first one and I'm a fan of the two close ups. Must be fun trying to get the ball in shot given the speed of the game?

There are some great images there Alan, its a fast game and you've shown some skill in capturing those moments.

Well done, not an easy sport to capture. All good, but #3 & 4 are my pick.

Thank you
Picture 1 is Paralympian Kim Daybell retrieving the ball from the back of the court against English #2 Liam Pitchford.
Picture 2 is England Junior player James Hobson, who normally defends but has an explosive attack when he comes into the table. Makes for a nice dynamic picture.
Picture 3 is Tin Tin Ho, women's champion for the last two years, playing a reverse backhand with a penhold grip.
Picture 4 is Kelly Sibley, English #1 and five times national champion.
Picture 5 is Liam Pitchford with Men's doubles partner Paul Drinkhall.
Picture 6 is Tin Tin on the practice table.
Picture 7 is Denise Payet, English Cadet champion.

I've been shooting table tennis for six years or so now, so you get to know all of the players' styles and the best angles to capture them from. For exactly the same reason, it's getting more difficult to find a "fresh" look.

Great shots, I especially like the 3rd of Tin Tin Ho.

#3 is my pick :)

I didnt expect to like them (only because of the subject) but they are fab no.1 is brilliant

Wow, really in there and up close. Are you able to take a free role and shoot wherever at this event? Or in table tennis in general. Certainly beats the behind the barriers limitations of most sports.

The first five were actual matches, so taken from behind the barriers. The last two were in the practice hall, so I just asked the players if they wouldn't mind me sat pretty much on the edge of the table for a couple of rallies and then move away to let them continue with their warm-up.
