weekly KathG's 52 for 2017

I prefer the first one, nicely composed with all the swirls. I does look like it's floating though.

Not sure which, I thought the first was good but now I see the second I think that's good. And now other options come to mind.:D

Thank you so much of your kind comments on my Numbers submission. I agree with all your CC. It is very helpful and also makes me think, sometimes I don't see until someone else point it out.
Now to post my kind of attractive, going to be cheating a little as I'm struggling to keep up right now. :(:D

Week 10 Attractive.
I am having to post some older images for this as again family are taking over my time mostly mentally:( got to love them.
Anyways one of my kind of attractive is landscape shots.

These where taken the end of summer in Wales the Elan Valley area. I love visiting these dams

Hope this is acceptable and not classed as cheating.

There are no rules :)

#1 for me, I like the dam leading the eye into the picture.

Like the first one best Kath, I like the detail in the wall, the colours and the perspective of the shot.

#1 for me too Kath. Love the detail all the way to the horizon. You can really sense the fresh air; great shot

Hi Kathleen,
Numbers - I too prefer #1, the one you posted in the main thread.
The crop may be a bit tight... but I like the composition / placement of the tape and the use of DoF.
Also very impressed at the strong black background.
Attractive - Great leading lines in #1, but #2 for me. The flow of the water is great and the sky has sufficient action to allow the central composition. May I suggest a bit of cloning of the foliage top left?

The first numbers is my favourite Kath. It's a very crisp shot and well composed.

Attractive number one is another vote from me. Love the leading line across the dam. It looks like a very attractive part of the world.

Numbers - #1 for me, the composition with the DOF works very well.

#1 for the dams as well, the leading line into the picture works for me and somehow I feel it gives a greater impression of the scale of the dam than #2.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and CC, they are very much appreciated.

Cheers
kath

Week 11 Out of the Dark

Really struggled with this topic, could not come up with anything that had not already been done. Im not sure about this one but it is the best I have right now :D. This one comes from testing my new Canon EF 35mm F2 IS USM lens. I was playing with some presets and I sort of like how this come out.:)

Hi Dave, thank you.
Yes I just realised, i really need new glasses. I could not find away to delete it, hopefully one of the mods will be able to remove it.

Cheers
Kath

Very nice indeed, good subject just enough detail in the blacks and a really strong white

2 very good shots of the dam, I like them both.

The flowers look great against the dark background, especially in B&W.

Nicely composed, nice DoF and you're balanced the exposure very well.

Routine - 2 lovely images of the dog but for me the first one is better for its composition.
Numbers - both images fit the theme, but the first for me as its a bit sharper in focus
Attractive - I cant fault either image, such a beautiful place.
Dark - a lovely idea for the theme and you seem to have caught the little blossom nicely.

Thank you to everyone who has commented and given CC it is very much appreciated.
Now if i could just find some more ideas and stop playing catchup ...LOL...:banghead:......:canon:

seen a few burning gas ring shots over the years ... this is up there with the best. #1 for me ... well done for zooming in like that. (y)

#1 for me! Just the right DoF and I like the blue tones.
