I really like Fuji Superior 800 rated at 400, it works very well when there is a clear blue sky and nice bright sunlight, on overcast days though it can be a bit dull and colourless. That said it does convert reasonably well to mono on these occasions, it is a bit grainy but I thought that suited the subject. A few examples below taken on a Nikon F80 with a Nikkor 28-105mm AFD

Very graphic: Nice work. On first read I thought you'd processed in B&W chemicals, but I'm assuming it was a post-production edit?

Thanks for the comment Lee, yes converted to mono in Lightroom.

Good choice of subject Adrian, and great tight compositions. The mono conversion works well and I think they're probably less grainy than the XP2 I got developed on Monday. It was dated 2008 though, so that might have been a factor.

Many thanks for the comment Peter. The Fuji 800 is pretty good in very bright clear conditions, I often shoot it at 200 ISO which give really nice deep negs with great colours, it just doesn't like over cast conditions it seems, but it's ok for mono conversions I am finding.

Adrian, One of my favourite places to take photographs and your conversions work very well, still retain the essence of the buildings and there character.

If you ever get the chance to night shoot when it is lite,it is a joy.
