So, just been away for a few days in our campervan. Took a few photos and have taken one of my fave pics of all time.

It got me thinking. I've taken better technical photos, compositionally better photos and photos with better cameras and resulting sharpness/resolution etc.

So why is this iPhone, low res photo my fave......

I rarely get the wife to agree to having her pic taken. We are both so genuinely happy at the moment the pic was taken. We stopped off in the new campervan (on its first outing). So I guess it's the rarity of the Mrs in a pic and the memories/emotions it evokes.

So my question to you good people is:

What is your favourite photo that you've taken and why?

I guess the why is just as important as the what though?

It's certainly interesting to hear why people like certain pics.

Many reasons , from Luck, to the "I'll never do that again if I try a million times". From technical achievement, to the trek to get to that spot. From sentimental value to good timing.

I like different photos for different reasons, the ones that I know I can go back and do it again are not the one I holds most dear, similarly I like photos where I sometimes think "I have to pinch myself I took that." are the ones I like the most.

This photo of my wife. She's been through a lot over the last few years with breast cancer. She loves her garden, and last year we went to Culzean Castle, and they were selling plants etc. She bought this plant, and was so happy. I had my old 70-300 lens on my D7000 and shouted at her from a distance. I took this when she turned round.
It means a lot to me to see her smiling, and she likes it too.

That's well caught and I love the fact you both like the pic too[emoji1474]

Not quite as sentimental as others, but this is probably my favourite. It was the first shot I took with my fuji x30.
I took this as me and my girlfriend walked onto the pier - Mid conversation, Mid sentence even, one handed, while walking...
When we eventually stopped and I hit the playback button, my love affair with fuji began.

There are plenty of other close contenders featuring family and friends, but ultimately none of them would have happened had I not fallen in love with photography again.

I like this one, actually the only personal photo of mine I have actually made a print out of and kept.

But I also like this one, it's the first "good" photo I took.

From work though, there are many, it's hard to choose but most people will remember this one.

Before we moved from Australia to the UK we had our last holiday, my father was fishing and caught a fish that he was well chuffed with, so as it was just the two of us Dad told me how to use the camera and I took the shot. First time I`d ever had a camera in my hands, every time I go to Mums I always look in the old family album and just look at the old b&w photo. I was 11 yrs old when I took the shot.

This one of my wife taken over 10 years ago when I got my first 'proper' camera is probably still one of my favourites, straight out the camera, no crop and no PP as like now I still dont really have a clue what I am doing!
