I have my Canon DSLR and several lenses for serious shooting and a couple of bridge cameras for other events, but I'm looking for a small point and shoot that I can just stick in my handbag for everyday shooting. I know everyone has personal preferences but i'd be interested in people's views please. Something small, easily connectable with a rechargeable (and replaceable) battery. Thanks in advance.

Can you get the rx100 at this level ? I have the mk2 and it takes great photos, loads of details, tiny, even done the Milky Way with it. My wife took it to NYC and it was fab

Shame it's like a bar of soap :banghead:

My missus uses the Lumix LX5

Great little camera ans has RAW support too.

Not exactly a point and shoot (AF and zoom lens) but a very nice little camera.

On eBay for under a ton if you're lucky.

A used Sony RX100 mk1? I am always amazd at this little thing, punches well above its weight and is very small! Great little camera.

Gone for a Canon Ixus 175, within my price range and all I need really for next weekend. Just waiting for Amazon to deliver :)

Hmmm, would have gone for one with at least a 1" sensor! But if it's good enough [emoji106]

Hi Tracey:)! I have a Canon Ixus 205 - it was my first digital camera. For what it is, it's great and I've taken lots of photos with it that I've been happy with. It's not my main camera now but I often stick it in my pocket/bag!

Good luck! I hope you get much enjoyment from it:canon:! There's a thread here somewhere about Canon Ixus models...

Thanks Elizabeth, that's exactly my reason for buying it. I have my Canon 50d, a Minolta and Panasonic bridge cameras, all of which are very good when I want to do something more serious but slightly more bulky than for everyday snapping. This will live in my handbag for everyday use. Getting it's first trip out in Blackpool next weekend :)
