Cool vivid colours!

Am I ever happy to not live at that scale…
#4, my pick, look very threatening!

There was a film way back in the 50's called "The incredible Shrinking Man" who, after exposure to fallout from an A-Bomb test and then getting a dose of insecticide from a park sprayer (I believe) started to shrink!

And he ended up battling a spider using a needle as a sword!

Apart from that trip down memory lane excellent shots and as Kodiak said lovely colours!

Now that would make an interesting picture  Thanks (y)

Nice work Toby
The wolf spider head on in 4 is very nice

Lovely shots and especially the Wolfie, the last one looks like it has the "egg sack" attached so will be worth keeping a lookout for her to see if she has the babies on board.

Thanks, yes there's a few with the egg sack attached.

the backgound is a little bright but the third is by far the best with some good detail front to back

Thanks, which part of the background as it looks OK to me?

Any spider bigger than a zebra spider and I am out of there, or a wuss as some people would say. Therefore I will never be able to get shots like these. Well done ;)

Thanks. Zebra spiders must be tiny then as these guys are very small ;)

Saw a few insects and spiders I've never seen before today.

Not sure what this fella is? I'm guessing it was about 12mm in length and about 2mm wide.

Not sure what this spider is, but it was smaller than the wolf spiders I've been shooting recently, guessing about 10-12mm in length including the legs.

7.And coincidentally a Zebra Back Jumping Spider. Jeez these things are small, and move fast.

Well I can tell you, your doing really well with this macro photography. I think the spider you can't ID is a wolf spider, maybe a male or a nursery web spider but I don't think so.
Thanks very much. So could it be a young Wolf Spider then, looked quite different from the others?

If I remember I'll look at it on Monday, I'm out all day tomorrow at the Provence lavender fields, really looking forward to going, just once a year chance so got to go tomorrow.

More great images Toby especially the Wolf spider shots.

Time for a new thread IMO.

Anyone know what this fella is, it was about 3-4mm in length. Here it is sitting on our rather colourful garden rug.

Froghopper maybe, maybe Icy could id it. She likes these things.

Great collection of image. I particularly like the third image in the first set (and the background looks fine to me), the first of the flies in post #14, and the froghopper.

I agree with Alf about a new thread - if you keep adding images to a thread a lot of people won't see the additions as they may only visit a thread once. It can also get a bit complicated to specify which image one is commenting on.

Wonderful images in throughout. The frog hopper in red is lovely
Thanks for the comments, appreciate it. I'll make a new thread next time I have the macro urge ;)
