Nikon D750 & D780

What other lenses have you got Dave, and what do you tend to shoot?

I've got the 35, 50 85mm 1.8 Prime lenses. All G. Shoot people predominately - got a couple of older zoom lenses for personal/everyday but want to keep it simple.

I keep thinking ooh I'd like a Macro, ooh I'd like a 24-70, ooh I'd like a 70-200 but in real terms what I've got is ideal for what I need. I'm thinking for the future maybe even go 28mm 1.8 & 58 1.4 and that's good enough for what I need.

I think it's commonly referred to as GAS :D:D

Well worth looking at Tim. I had one coupled with a 5D2 so was used to crap AF anyway. Some say AF can be hit or miss but never experienced that myself. I found it to be very sharp with decent rendition. I swapped it for an 85 1.2L which didn't over inspire me, so good was the siggy.
Not used the lens for anything particularly fast or tricky but AF seems as snappy as any other prime I've used.

Hi

Not posted any pictures for a while, here are three from the weekend. Do they look over processed:

Thank you

They don't look over processed to me, but maybe not consistently processed across the whole images? I think in the colour shots the foreground seems more to have mor contrast than the background.

Great idea with the b&w shot but looks like you missed the focus point, if it was on the kids face it would have been perfect...IMHO [emoji3]

What's up with the plastic bit coming off of the 58?

Bit of a bad design - if gets dented really easily. I think they just did not make the recess deep anough so everytime you put the cap on and off it hits it! Plus its such a thin weak bit of plastic too.

Another close up attempt...

Nicely done. Looks like a damselfly to me, although I wrongly mistook some of mine for a damselfly as there's something else that looks almost identical but I can't remember what it was now. Not a dragonfly though ;)

I think you're right ... it's a long blue flitty flying thing to me!

Just refreshed my memory. It is a damselfly but there are two that are almost identical, the common blue and azure. This one is the common blue I believe as there's no spur on the side.

@siblingchris

Thank you for the comments. The first one was a test with editing in affinity photo, the third one I was trying to capture the sun rays but valid point re the boy.

Any help guys.

My D750 arrived from Panamoz a week or so ago. Finally having a play after having the house upside down with building work.

There is one dead pixel on the LCD, it's tiny and only noticeable on certain menu screens which done have an option at the bottom.

Not sure what to do next really, what would you do?

It's almost impossible to photo on my phone, but have tried anyhow.

It's probably going to come under the same deal as tv's and monitors, 3 hot/dead pixel scenario. Seriously... just keep it.

It obviously bugs you enough to post about it so I doubt you'll live with it. Return for a replacement. IMHO

It's not bothering me massively but it's there all the same.

It's just not greatly timed with upcoming weddings, is another option to send it to Nikon in a quieter time of the year and have it fixed?

Just return it for a refund from the retailer, and order a new one in parallel.

Also, assuming it's a grey import if from Panamoz(?), so I assume you wouldn't be eligible for a UK manufacturer repair? I might be wrong here, so forgive me...

Yeah it's covered for U.K. Repairs, you just claim the cost back through Panamoz.

Will speak to them once their offices open tomorrow and see what my options are.

I'm thinking if it already has one then it could be prone to more in the future, but probably not.

I used to knock about with the Chesterfield skinheads 1971 in Skegness, nice bunch of lads
I don't remember those guys, I wasn't even born then ;) :p

Damselfly as its wings are back. Dragonflies wings stay open.
