Nikon D750 & D780

Another Puffin from Skomer, I just seem to be drawn towards this type of portrait.

Think i still need to work on my b&w editing. Don't know why but my b&w all seem to be a tad dull

Couple more and ill stop boring you all with them :D

I agree your B&W do look a tad dull but you'll find something that works for you eventually. Have you tried the Nikon monochrome profile? Can be quite nice as a starting point, although you don't get the ability to change the colour filters/luminance.

Second two shots are much better as the model looks disengaged and bored in the first. The third one is the pick of the bunch for me.

All nice shots, third one for me but the visible bra strap under her arm is a bit unsightly. Disappointed in the monochrome results? Well, yes, they are a bit dull. Imho B/W is not a matter of simple desaturation... and these to me look to have been shot more with colour in mind and then just desaturated. A good mono result depends much more on shape and form, texture and contrast than colour does. Aim to get some of those needed mono ingredients right in-camera and your mono will really zing even before you start playing with tonal contrast in post. (which you will need to in order to bring out the best of monochrome's particular beauty) It's a tough, but rewarding learning curve!

Was at the in-laws again yesterday, they live inland so its more normal to see the boar.
The difference with this was it was still light out, very unusual to see them before it gets dark, there were several adults about with several young ones from this year, they all fled when they realised we were on the terrace, this one had real balls, he/she just walked up to the terrace wall and watched us, he/she seemed more interested by the sound of the shutter, we was a little worried that it might decide to jump over the wall which would have been bad news for us, this is not a adult but still menacing.
This is the best shot of the lot.

Well looks like my d750 will be going back after I've been to Cyprus next month for a shutter recall

What a bummer, but at least you get a new shutter.

Sometimes the light is so nice even I can't ignore it!

Mine has to go in too but i have never seen the issue and am going to use away at it until november/december before i send it in. It will be fine.
I have had the first shot that gives me the err message every now and then. But it hasnt affected anything else at the min.

Fingers crossed it stays that way for the next few weeks

Took some pictures of me and the girlfriend today before the little moo arrives!

Heres just a few from the day!

Editing still aint up to scratch struggling with it on these types of shots..

Make sure you're not in them then otherwise it'll be more than the shutter that needs replacing.

Lewis, prefer the colour shot, the nail varnish in the b&w shots is too distracting for my liking. Congratulations on getting her up the duff.

Cheers mate, I know unfortunately I don't get to involved with the nail varnish but next time I'll make sure she gets a colour that will look good in b&q! Lol

Or b&w!

Did my 80th birthday party gig last night in the rain, I got pretty wet and happy to report that my chocolate camera didn't melt. Made it a wee bit tough then. Really enjoyed the craic with everyone, must do more! Here's two I quite like.

I really should read more than the first few words of the comments before looking at the picture... I was having shades of Reggie Perrin there (after reading just the part I bolded). :)

Splashed out on the Reikan Focal Focus Assist software today... first lens I've tried is my 58mm f1.4.... +18 fine tune AF adjust

Hi Dave,

Do you have a picture without the correction?

Thank you

Kev

I'll take some before and after with my 50 1.8 when do that.

Thank you am thinking of getting it but not sure if it is worth it.

I've ummed and arred for a while but for £40 quid thought I'd go for it just for the peace of mind if nothing else. Simple enough to use and makes you feel better. :)
