Hmmm... it works like that for "Brush" but not for "Edit" - oversight by Adobe!

A nice lens but it does not have vr and there are different versions at different prices. Have a look at the Ken Rockwell website.

I've done some research and have settled for the AF or the AF-S version, not really keen on the idea of the push and pull version. I do realise there is no VR, but i'll stick with a min of 1/200, i'd love a VR lens but there's a reason why this is 1/4 the price of the 70-200 2.8 - something has to give

I rarely use my 70-200mm in slow shutter scenarios other than motorsport so VR's not that much of an issue imo. This should give you some idea of the rendering of the lensThanks

I have the two ring version. I've had it for 10 years now (!) and just had the telephoto rubber ring replaced. I use it for everything - sports, events, concerts. Sure, it doesn't have VR but it's still a great lens.

I have to add that I use mine just as much indoors as outdoors (attached to the D750) - basketball, school assemblies, musical concerts, plays - it just hums along. Yes, the shutter speed and ISO have to be raised but then the D750 is so good at higher ISOs that I don't feel the need to get a 70-200VR or OS (Tamron/Sigma.)
I would estimate that at least half the photos in this album were taken with my 80-200/2.8. This was a dress rehearsal with full stage lighting and dark auditorium.

I had an 80-200 a while ago. It looked like it had been used to demolish a house with but performed perfectly. Nice and sharp and balanced nicely on a D300.
It was so good, I am thinking of getting another.
I had the AF-S version first but it was faulty and couldn't be fixed by Nikon so bought the 2 touch version.

Popped out and did some quick rolling shots with a few friends tonight.
Here's one from the very first part of the shoot, i have more with a slower shutter which ill post up later.
It's far from perfect - need to sort the shadow on the front and wheel, and remove the blue tint to the plate.
Also, the car could of been cleaned... so there's an annoying brown tint under the drivers door - best way to sort that?
Oh and i think i should get a polarized filter.

Frequency separation & work on the low frequency layer? More normally applied to skin retouching but it works wherever you want to keep texture and colour information separate.
.. might just be quicker and easier to reshoot, though ..

Great shot really like that, wouldn't be without my Tammy 70-200 2.8 I love this lens and so sharp even wide open, my fav lens.I bought the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 on a rather expensive whim, not expecting to use it all that much. Now I wouldn't be without it.

Hi mate I've had the Nikon 105mm and now currently got the tamron 90mm both are great lenses.. tbh I couldnt really notice a difference between the two lenses other than price!! And a lot of things I was reading up on the tamron was coming out on top!

That is an odd one. VR has a slight hum to it but never a buzz. If the screen is shaking maybe it's the focus motor?

I'm actually going to flog my sigma 105 f2.8 macro lens
It is a great lens but I've hardly used it, so I need to use it to generate some funds for a 150-600mm

The 80-200mm 2.8
I assumed it was to do with the focus system... but saw the model one touch IF (which i assume is internal focus)

Not quite sure by what you mean by one touch or two touch. The af-d and af-s are both two ring; one ring for focus if you want to do it manually and one ring for telescopic length. The af-s has an internal focus motor, the af-d uses the camera body for autofocus. Hope that helps. (I have the af-d version.)

Basically i've seen an advert which has listed a lens as:
Nikon 80-200mm ED AF F2.8 Nikkor D
Trying to work out if it's the push and pull one or the normal twist one?
I think they did the ED AF D as both push and pull and twist?

Supposedly faster autofocus on the two ring. As well the two ring has a tripod collar and I don't think the push pull does.

Some great shots in that album, really captured the emotions of the day.
Only critique is that some pics flash by in a split second on the slide show though so you don't really get to see them.

Well, I decided on the Tamron ( F004 version) and ordered one yesterday to be delivered to France.
Got an email from the retailer saying they had cancelled the order because 3D secure hadn't been completed!
The option to complete the 3D secure section didn't appear when I paid!
Anyway, they cancelled the order, even though the money has left my account and hasn't gone back in yet. They are holding the lens for me but I think I will try elsewhere. I've found the same lens on MPB cheaper, but I might go for the Sigma, I read some great reviews of it last night.

Push pull version is usually around £350 from a retailer, the two ring is about a couple of hundred dearer.

Nice, very classy I expect the Bride was really happy with this. I see where Toby is coming from with his comment about speed but suspect that's more from a photographers perpesctive wanting to "study" each pic than the bride who just wants to see a story of the day. I too would like to scan the pics a bit more but also think the timing to the music works really well, and good choice of soundtrack as well.

So took the D750 + 70-200 F4 to Borde Hill horse trials today to take some pics of my friend riding.
I met up with a friend who was using a D500 + 70-200 F2.8 and he was kind enough to let us swap lenses and bodies to see what I thought.
Sadly, the D500 and 70-200 f2.8 were just fantastic. The D750 was good, well excelllent to be fair, but the D500 focus just nailed everything.
It's the first time I have used one in a situation where I would be using one (if that makes sense!!).
So I'm going to get one, I just have too!!
