BRIT GT on the GP

Popped up to Brands last Saturday catch the British GT on the GP Loop.

The weather was all over the place sunny then cloudy then rain then sun but made for some nice shots different light and colours.

Started at the top of Druids where I tried to catch the cars in pockets of sun on the track between the increasing cloud cover.

Then moved to Pilgrims Drop catch the cars dropping down the hill sadly missed the nice blue sky should have moved sooner.

Then headed towards Surtees catch the cars heading out onto the GP loop.

This was followed by a stint at Westfield for the Minis we had thunder and rain which created some nice reflections in the track.

The weather changed again to bright sunshine so made my way to Stirlings for Quali and the rains came back on with the waterproofs but the cars did look good coming out of the spray headlights ablaze this was followed by bright sunshine making for some nice shots of the cars leaving the shadows into bright sunlight on a drying track.

When Quali was done I headed home before more rain did not fancy a third soaking.

Thanks for looking.

Of all the possible boxes to click to achieve such set,
you got them all… but one, IMO, and that is DRL.
Dynamic Range Levels = black and white points setting.

For exemple, this Toyota #86. Where the low Sun is
tapping on the white paint the value of this highlight
is only around 180~185/255.

Suggestion
Here, I did nothing else but take the said highlights
to 245/255 —under the blown out threshold — to
illustrate the great l
atitude granted by the very good
STTL exposure.

Terrific set, spectacularly capturing the sense of edgy racetrack drama

Nice! I see what you were saying in the other thread about the reflections...

#6 The PowerMaxed Mini with the Union Flag scheme - love that reflection!

Thanks for comments I have increased highlights on this shot just slightly but anymore will take away the mood of the shot same with the others that reflect the weather conditions and available light of the day.
