I leave small bits of wood in the garden to have things to look under -also planters and newspapers that are too dirty to recycle.
Really good way of making the garden better (it is small)
Two problems with this idea
1) My wife hates it as do my parents
2) When I recently went on holiday I was shocked at how long I had to look to find wood to look under

Ideally leave small pieces (easier to turn over) and leave a couple of weeks between inspections.
 
Some lovely shots of the woodlouse`s, super focus on the eyes too, nice colours and lighting.
