I saw an f100 for sale the other week, nobox, no battery cover snd a bit mucky.... £500.... mental.
 
It's what happens when people get a sniff of the fact that certain items are becoming sought after. Mju IIs have gone from being worth about £30 a couple of years ago to now pushing £200. In the case of th Mju II, at least it's a well respected camera, but you'll find that opportunists and those ignorant of the value of gear will start trying to inflate the prices of anything vaguely related, so you'll be able to look forwatd to the prospect of a 'vintage' Kodak disc camera for £150, or 90s era Olympus Trips being sold as "As used by David Bailey" and stuff.
 
I was out taking photographs on Alderley Edge and met a mysterious old wizard who wanted to buy my camera bag. I told him I'd already got it listed on an internet sales site and it was due to end in 5 minutes. However, although it was a very fine and beige-coloured camera bag, it failed to attract a single bid, even at its 99p starting price. On my way back along the path I met the wizard again, who once more asked to buy my camera bag, so I reluctantly agreed and he told me to follow him.

He walked up to a large rock face and tapped three times against it with his Gitzo tripod and the rock face opened, revealing a large room in which 12 photographers were lying asleep along-side their beige-coloured camera bags... all except one who had no camera bag. He took the bag from me and laid it beside the photographer, and told me that in exchange for my kindness he would give me the secret to great riches.

He then proceeded to tell me that the secret of success when listing second hand stuff on the internet is all down to using certain special magic words in the description, and that I could add a 'nought' to the usual asking price for each one I used! Since it's nearly Halloween I will divulge just three of the several magic words he told me: Stunning; Rare and Barn-find.

The wizard told me to use these words frequently and I could ask any price I wanted for the item I was selling! However, I have not yet had time to check the validity of the wizard's words against the reality contained within the 'completed items' section ;) :D

There's also someone on Gumtree selling 10 rolls of Portra 400 for £35 collected. All in date until 2019. I don't currently have the link to hand but it should be easy enough to find.

I also see that they have 5 packs of fp4 in 120 for £19.59 including delivery.

I haven’t, but I’ve found this quote (from 2007) online:

The Pan 100 and Pan 400 films are distributed in areas of the world where ILFORD does not have a corporate presence. They are based on FP4+ and HP5+ technology, but are produced to lower specifications and tolorances. While the quality is acceptable, these films are lower in quality than other ILFORD films.

TBH I'm not particularly keen on FP4 and only HP5 if shot indoors, was more wondering whether Pan 100 was more like Pan F but it would appear not.. Think I'll stick to Fomapan for my cheap b&w.
 
I'm really liking APX for my cheapy, but I dunno if its just Xtol that makes everything look bonza.....who knows

That's the trouble with filum, everyone has their own go-to chems which may or may not be ideal for everything, I'm sure Xtol will crap out for me on something...sometime..:)

I was honestly surprised when I asked Ilford over on Twitter and they said it had been discontinued for 10 years! It hadn't been stored in the fridge, and I developed it in Rodinal (maybe that saved me). I'd like to find another b/w film that gives such smooth results in Rodinal...
 
I've started working through a try list since Pound land stopped stocking Agfa Vista 200. I have bought Rollei RPX in 25, 100 and 400 as a pack, Kodak Vision 3 iso 1.6 (colour C41) & Kodak Ortho iso 3 from Northern Film labs, Adox Silvermax 100, Adox CMS20II, FT1-2 50, Kodak XX 250 and Orwo UN54 100 in 35mm. In 120 I have some Bergger Pancro 400 and Ilford XP2 Super for my Bronica SQ-A along with the rolls of expired Fujicolor 400NPH, Agfapan 100APX and the 5 rolls of 220 FP4 Plus that came with the Bronica. I don't have a 220 back though. Do the Yashica 635 or Yashica E take 220?

I shot a roll of Fujicolor 160NPS yesterday in the Bronica, it was preloaded in one of the backs. I shot the Rollei RPX 25 in my F75 with a Yongnuo 35/2 which, incidentally defaults to ISO100 with non DX-coded film. I reloaded the F75 with the Orwo UN54 because of this. Now I just need to get them developed. I was tempted to buy a lab box but was put off by the 7 month wait.
 
Instead of the lab-box I have gone old school and bought both the Agfa Rondinax 35U and 60. I've ordered some of the Ars-Imago monobath to try. I've only ever developed film once, back in 1992 on a one day college course.

If anyone has any experience with this or similar monobath/Rondinax combos I would like to know.
 
I have a Rondinax 35 but have never tried the monobath.

My only tip about the Rondinax: do take note of the advice to load in subdued light. The laundry where I dev my film sometimes has bright sideways light, and on occasion some of it has reflected off the sink draining board up the slit where the guillotine goes, and caused visible light leaks where the film paused above the guillotine while winding it in, when I changed my grip on the wind knob. Now I try to remember to take it right away from all light sources, and the problem is solved. Once the film is guillotined and wound fully in, it can go back to the laundry safely for the wet parts of the process.

Thanks for the advice. I realised after posting that it's actually 35 years since that darkroom lesson, I was 17.
 
The Rondinax 35U arrived today, the monobath did too but no-one was in when that arrived so no developing til Monday [emoji852]️
 
The Rondinax 60 is here now too. Other bits are on the way to Amazon lockers, post office pickup and Argos click and collect. Stuff like negative sheets, storage bottles, film clips and a squeegee. Prime next day delivery slowed down a lot over this weekend so that stuff won't arrive til midweek.
 
Sharif Photographic got a couple of mentions upthread from last month, and I've also bought Kodak HC110 developer from them this week. Delivery on this can get very scary with Ag quoting £51.98 delivered on eBay and £43.98 from their website, but Sharif is doing it at £30.99 delivered via eBay. The photo shows expiry in 2018, but mine came through as 2019-08. Possible delivery to your local Argos is also helpful if you're not at home during the day and your Argos stays open late.
