Try the local second hand shops and ebay/facebook/etc. Hope you get it back.

When you say lost do you mean lost ? or stolen ?

Oh dear , have you asked the police if it has been handed in ? , some people would do this

I did, I have also checked car park security office but no luck. Happy christmas to SOMEBODY.

All may not be lost; the person who found it may still have it and not had time to hand it in. Were your contact details in there? Do they have cameras on the car park? Maybe they could review the footage?

Most police stations no longer accept handed in goods.

Which car park, was it a P and R one?

Keep an eye out on Gumtree and s/hand emporiums such as CEX and Cash Converters,

Thats quite right. I tried to hand in a bag of somebodies work kit (safety harness etc) the police wouldn't even open the door to let in at one station, I had to drive miles to the main area station.

Car park Security cameras?

Insurance may well cover it, but you might need a Case No. from the police.............

Still worth checking whether its been handed in to maybe police, security or maybe even the local camera shop??? Maybe longshot but worth a try. Are from the area??

Must be gut wrenching

Good luck anyway..............

Probably won't. Most insurance policies contain a clause requiring you to "take all reasonable precautions to avoid loss or damage" or similar, and it would be hard for the OP to argue that he had complied with this.

If the policy covers you for loss it should cover you. it might also depend on how you report it?
I put it down and it was not there when I went to pick it up? True.
Inference, some one took it. True.
